every A.I is based on a person , and church , the alpha A.I , is based on the director , Lenard Church

both alpha and meta might have actually survived, if either achieved metastability and been considered human and survived the emp, or at least alpha was a ghost as he said he was.

    • LudwigRP

No, he said he's a ghost because that's what he thought he was when he "died" in Season 1, when the body he was controlling was destroyed by Caboose in that tank. He's still an A.I., and he's confirmed dead.

My favorite season, definitely. Close second (and third, fourth, fifth, and sixth) would be the Blood Gulch Chronicles. The raw humor and just barebone quality seemed amazing in the BGC. With this season, though, there was slightly less humor, but that was more more than compensated for by a much deeper story. The exposition at the beginning was amazing, the intro music is the best of any season (with the original BGC being a close second). And this is also the season that really shapes an actual story. BGC was more about just comedy, and then seasons 7-12 seem to really just build off of this story, not creating as many new story elements as this season.
    Tl;dr
This is the single best season ever. Of all time. Fight me.

After having re-watched the entire series (seasons 1-12), I have to say, Season 6 is the best season. It combines all of the best parts of the humor in Seasons 1-5 with the depth of story that started in the Recovery One mini and continued forward. Not that future seasons are bad, but the balance in this season is perfect. Basically like Season 3 of Babylon 5.

Season 6, 9 and 10 were, and have been the best seasons written, SEASON 6 raised the bar considerably, and the episodes moved which good momentum. This last episode had the best ever ending, and an awesome set up to go on to develop the freelancer storyline in 9 and 10. Thank you Rooster Teeth!

@Takadam it stays very good up until season 11, then it becomes just good.

I almost don't want to continue with season 7 because I don't see how it can be any better than this. Absolutely amazing and fantastic writing.

I'm sorry to say this but I just watched the last episode of season 12 and I was severely underwhelmed. I liked the new season and the show has stayed funny after Miles took over writing it, but it's (in my opinion) lacking when it comes to story. When I looked in the comments for the season 12 finale they were littered with "BEST SEASON EVER!!!" and "SOOO GOOD!", and I had to wonder if anyone had even seen seasons 6-10 (yet again, just my opinion, those are my favorite seasons). I would just like to know if anyone agrees with me on this, because it seems like RvB's creativity storywise left when Burnie stopped writing it.

Dr. Leonard Church is the RvB equivalent to Halo's Dr. Catherine Halsey.

Just as Cortana was the AI brainchild of Halsey, the Alpha (Church) was the Director's.

They both headed classified, state of the art and morally questionable military programs. Project Freelancer and Spartan-II.

@optcleafpool because AI's have to be based off of people, Alpha (or as who we know as "church") was based off of the directors life, Dr. Leonard Church

This is hands down, without a doubt my favorite season of RVB. Perfect combination of humor, story, drama, mystery and intrigue. I love the concept of the letters between the Director and the Chairman at the beginning of each episode, very unique and very fitting

That, Warrior, is an excellent question. The markers of this series have this awesome ability to take small tidbits and weave them into spectacular stories. So, can you say possible story arc? :D
