So this is something I’ve had on my mind for a while. With how long I’ve been on the site, I thought it would be cool to go ahead and write about why exactly it is that I’ve stuck around for as long as I have.

So, I’ve been on the site since 2009, and back then, things were A LOT different. For any newbies to the site, Screwattack used to be a nice, black and blue website where you could edit your own comments and replies were held within those comments. Death Battle wasn’t even a thing yet at the time, and I was rarely ever on.

That’s weird to think about now. Back then, only a select group of people really knew each other,  and even then they didn’t really talk too much, just exchanged a couple of lines of text and that was the end of it.

I didn’t really go on the site much because to me back then, the internet was a weird place. Youtube poop was a thing at the time, and I rarely went on to do much. Theeeen DB popped. It was THE BEST THING at the time, Sonic vs Mario was my first episode believe it or not. After that I went on the site a lot more, debating a lot more and even got to learn stuff about other characters I hadn’t even heard of before.

      And along came Lousy.

There are probably a lot of you that know who Lousy is, and this dude was the coolest guy I met on Screwattack, and he still is. The dude was my first sub, and on this site of all places! Definitely cool.

There were a lot of early on debaters I still remember to this day. EAGLE_EYE_96_, The Universe, ChillyFreezer,  and a number of other g1’s that don’t go on the site anymore. So, with the number of g1’s increasing, it felt like Screwattack was really growing.

With DEATH BATTLE bringing in more g1’s, Lousy made the infamous Kirby DEATH ANALYSIS blog that inspired a bunch of people to make their own, including me.

And after that, more and more people would stick around, and that’s when gradually, I met more and more people who I’ve come to know as “The Regulars.” These are a group of people who have dedicated enough time into the site and people you’ll see more “regularly” within the comments sections of screwattacks videos.

Writer, college student, g1, SCA punching bag, D-rank strategist, Psych/English major, DEATH BATTLE researcher. I love top hats, Dafoe, media, and TV Tropes.

I've beaten Contra and Super C without losing a life, yet somehow can't complete Contra 4 on hard mode.

What can be said that already hasn’t? I learned everything I could have from Lousy about the site, and that’s saying something. If it wasn’t for him, I don’t think I would’ve been as active as I am on here with you guys. We're into a lot of the same cartoons and share the same struggles on fandoms that make our heart ache, *cough* *cough* SONIC THE HEDGEHOG *cough*

He’s also a mod in the Screwattack forums, and he does a pretty good job at dealing with the trolls over there. And if you ever need an anime recommendation, don’t expect anything other than Baccano! from this guy. (Which is completely fine because it’s an insanely good anime series! GO WATCH IT)

Just an average Joe, who loves death battle, video games and occasionally writing blogs when he finds the time.

A genuinely cool guy (no pun intended) that does A LOT for the g1 community on Screwattack. He’s done anthology blogs and just recently held a contest for the top bloggers of Screwattack. Out of all the g1’s on the site, Ultra is definitely the most involved, and a lot of respect comes from me for that.

And when it comes to putting in pure work into his content, ultra is second to none. He’s done multiple blogs detailing armies, different incarnations of the same character, and other death battle blogs.

      Hero’s Shade

      profile-photo-246034-1441672356.jpg

Currently in the process of writing an epic web series! Feel free to PM me if you're interested in hearing the details or helping.

Check out my alternate profile for Death Battle related stuff: http://www.screwattack.com/user/dbzfanboy-presshereformuffins94

I can tell Hero puts a lot of thought into the things he says, and you can see how well he applies that to his blogs. Whether it is casual banter, or back and forth debating, Hero’s Shade will somehow manage to make you laugh. Him and I have done a lot together over the site, whether it had been battling the trolls over the forums or just wanting to talk to someone casually, we’ve definitely made the darkest of times on the site fun. Not only that, I knew Hero’s Shade way before he became an ODBFB member, so to see him make that transition is awesome.

In real life, this dude is kind of a badass. I don’t know many people with a black belt, so if I ever need someone to help fight crime and solve mysteries with, I’ll hit up Lousy followed by Hero’s Shade. I easily could since me and Hero both live in the same state. How cool could this dood get?

      Grand Blazer

      profile-photo-241280-1444952700.jpg

Greetings, reader. I am the Grand Blazer, but I also go by Blaze, Blazer, Grand or just GB. Call me what you want. I definitely consider myself the "nerd" type, being a big gamer and anime/manga fan, throwing in a few comics and cartoon series too.

Like most g1s on this site, I'm a big fan of Death Battle and enjoy giving my thoughts and opinions on upcoming fights, though it's fairly rare that I'm actually able to contribute to debates. But being a DB fan, I primarily do Death Analysis blogs, though I am branching out into other stuff, be it top tens, reviews, maybe some rants, we'll see.

And that's pretty much all there is to me, fellow g1s. I hope to see you guys around. Until then.

Known as the Shipping Lord around these parts, the Canadian who loves Fairy Tail more than anyone I’ve ever met, this guy is the real deal. I actually keep in touch with Grand Blazer quite regularly over PM, probably more so than anyone else on the site.

If you haven’t checked out his blog’s, I HIGHLY recommend it. His content has consistently stayed at an above average level since he started, which is something I can’t say that I‘ve achieved myself.

      Thor Gunderson1058

      profile-photo-237489-1423436189.png

Hey guys, I'm Thor Gunderson1058, but if that's too much of a mouthful, you can call me Thor or just Eddie. I'm not into too many video games, I'm on here primarily for Death Battle (Huge Shocker, I know) anyway I used to like the show Deadliest Warrior but once it got canceled I soon found this quadrillions of times better show and thats that. I hope to have a career writing or animating Television Cartoons in adulthood, as such I am an Expert on Cartoons (my wiki: http://cartoonhalloffame.wikia.com/wiki/Cartoon_Hall_Of_Fame_Wiki) as well as horror movies, and will help in anyway I can if one needs info in these subjects.

      Aloha oe

I first met Thor at around the time he had first gotten on the site. He’s a pro in cartoons and a guy I would go to if I ever needed remember the name of a cartoon I would detail vaguely. He definitely knows his stuff, and he’s grown A LOT since he first got on the site.

And the fact that he likes horror films just as much as I do makes him even cooler.

      FastBlade5035

      profile-photo-142531-1446226781.png

I'm Fastblade5035, and I love DEATH BATTLE! I'm always thinking of possible matches, (admittedly most have to do with Marvel and Nintendo...) and I may or may not meme

His blogs similarly to Hero’s always make me laugh. He worked with Lousy on the Kirby DEATH ANALYSIS which got me into doing what I do now, so if it weren’t for him as well, I would not be where I am now.

      Homestucklover

      profile-photo-131086-1440720276.png

Just your average gamer who likes: anime, Homestuck, Death Battle, and Video Games... DUH
Favorite game: The Black Heart/Skullgirls/Ib/Mad Father
Fav. Movie: Coraline or Battle Royale
Hobbie: Death Battle predicting, watching anime/cartoons, being lazy, more anime/cartoons

Homestuck and I have a lot of things in common. We’re into the same shows, same games, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was my long lost brother. I really should hit this dude up for a squad match in Splatoon, because lord knows how much I’ve played that game (To give you guys an idea of how much, I’m an S rank. No, I’m not getting any higher than that, dern Japanese gamers.)

EntangledHive is pretty high on the “Few people online who genuinely make me genuinely laugh” scale. Why you ask? Anyone who refers to themselves as Satan so graciously is gonna make me chuckle.

      Electrocole

      profile-photo-246093-1422751582.png

Good day/evening, ladies and gents. I am Electrocole, named after one of my most wanted Death Battle's: Electro vs. Cole MacGrath, which I think would be quite an ELECTROCOLE match-up.

For those of you who know me from the Wikia community, I am also Nkstjoa, so feel free to refer to me by either name. I've been doing work on both the Death Battle Wiki and the Death Battle Fanon Wiki for some time now.

Anywho, I am a HUGE fan of Death Battle. Pretty much the whole reason I signed up here was to join up with the Death Battle community. Aside from Death Battle, I'm a lifelong gamer, as well as a comic book and anime/manga fan.

As of Wolverine vs. Raiden, I decided to reveal that my YouTube channel is Chuck's Pal, home to the Hitler Predicts and Reviews Death Battle series:
      https://www.youtube.com/user/chucknorrisismypal

Hope to get to know you all soon. Take care

This guy is a good friend of Grand Blazer, so it didn’t take long for me to be friends with him too. He has very insightful comments on DEATH BATTLES and has made a TON of DB banners that the ODBFB has used in their blogs many a time. A talented man with a wise mind.

And then there are his Hitler DB videos… No more needs to be said about that.

      LSwan62

      profile-photo-150651-1427991125.jpg

I'm an actor, gamer, Death Battle fan, co-host and co-founder of the Discussing Death Battle Podcast, and member of the Official Death Battle Fan Blog and Death Battle's research team! I like to make prediction blogs, character blogs, and generally mess about on this site. Hope you like my work!

LSwan’s an awesome dude with probably the most fun profile name to say on the site. Just like Hero I got to see LSwan turn into a fully fledged ODBFB member, and he does a good job at it. Not only that, he’s one the co-creators to the DEATH BATTLE podcast which I’ve watched every episode in its entirety. (I have no life I know). Also, I wish I was half the comic book pro this guy is, he definitely knows his way around comics.

He’s also one of the most genuine people I’ve heard on the internet, and I can tell through his voice over in the podcast. As strange as it sounds, I actually like this dude’s voice. It’s like ASMR but he’s not even whispering.

      Comicking428

      profile-photo-231082-1420176021.jpg

I review films, talk about different gaming subjects, and enjoy watching Death Battle. Huge fan of Marvel, DC, Nintendo, and much much more.

We’re into the same cartoons and other various forms of pop culture, and if anyone messes with either of our blogs, I know we’ll team up and right the wrong that has been wronged… did that make any sense? I’m really glad there’s someone out there who uses my blogs coupled with his own research to back a character in a fight. I can’t help but feel my heart skip a beat knowing someone out there passes my blogs out as a reliable source.

      Sakuraxryu

      profile-photo-245785-1454196507.JPG

My favorite games are: Street Fighter, Tekken, Minecraft, Assassins Creed, Injustice, and SSX.

I'm a pretty chill person. I'd much rather make blogs based off my favorite game and talking about it than doing DEATH BATTLE related stuff.

I’m pretty sure sakura is the only female on the site. Joking aside, she’s definitely a really cool gal to talk to, and she’s very genuine and open whenever you talk to her.

That said I don’t condone the shipping of sakura and ryu. At all. She needs a talk with the shipping lord asap.

      Showzilla

      profile-photo-70839-1428000675.png

Best troll on the internet. Like, literally the best troll on the internet. Period.

This goes out to any trolls who dare to pick on anyone in this site:

      Beware Showzilla.

      Fado41

      profile-photo-245612-1442779371.PNG

A silly dude I like to have casual conversations with from time to time. I can’t help but feel this guy doesn’t get as much attention as he should on the site, he has put out a lot of good blogs that I would recommend reading if you have the time.

      Jokerke

      profile-photo-243233-1450735593.png

I actually met Jokerke through all of the other g1’s and he’s been a pretty cool guy to talk to just like fado. I hope you get more into blogging man, I’d like to see your opinion on shows and stuff since you seem to know a lot in that regard.

      SuperBrawlHero

      profile-photo-233292-1428007423.png

This is the first guy I collabed with. I remember talking to this guy about random stuff back around the time I actually got on the site. If you haven’t seen his work he’s done a lot of really good blogs, some of which ended up on tv-tropes which in my opinion is a huge accomplishment in and of itself.

      Kirby kid

      profile-photo-127851-1445084556.jpeg

Hey guys! Kirby kid here! I consider myself strange, but definitely relatable. I absolutely love gaming and that's why I decided to become a G1 here. I'm definitely what people consider a "nerd" of gaming from my friends and I graciously take that as a compliment, a label even.

As you can tell by my name I absolutely ADORE the Kirby franchise. It is my first gaming hero I really liked as a kid.(Everyone else takes a close second). And ever since I saw the brilliance that is DEATH BATTLE I've obviously suggested a few Kirby battles but none have come as close as I thought. With TONS of research I've learned that my favorite characters cute appearance hid some VERY strong secrets. I find it amazing that after all these years my favorite gaming character kept a HUGE boost in power secret to me.

I LOVE DEATH BATTLE. I mean who doesn't? And I always like to give in my 2 cents about a character I know. Hopefully the secret knowledge I contain in my head can be used to support someone I have in mind.(I WONDER WHO THAT COULD BE DERR). And to you G1's I sign off. POYO!

That’s weird, I’m on this list. How did that happen?

In all seriousness, I have wanted to do this for a very VERY long time.

I wanted to take this time for you to get to know me, because for the past 6 years, I can’t help but feel like I’ve been hiding who I am from you guys, and I know it’s been a joke for a  long time, but I really wanted to come out and say this.

I joined the site when I was 10. Back then, I assumed everyone on the internet was a creep, or an adult that hated kids. I have no idea how my little brain worked, but back then, I assumed that adults wouldn’t take what I said seriously because I was kind of young at the time, so I decided not to bring it up.

I really had nothing to worry about, but again I was young and that was my thought process at the time. So come March of 2014 I put out my blog and it gets FEATURED???? “This definitely couldn’t have been the work of a 14 year old” I thought people would say.

Again, I was little, I had nothing to worry about.

I am now 16 years old, and I’ve been treated with nothing but kindness and respect by you guys, but there are g1’s here who are the same age and they had no problem telling people their age, and I find it ridiculous that I haven’t. I realized about the time I put out my Danny Phantom blog that I had nothing to worry about, but it became a big joke with you guys and I actually really liked that. My big fear was that I would lose credibility or respect because I was young and I didn’t want people to view me like a small kid.

But now I’m just like “F#%K it.” I know you guys don’t care. But this is what I’ve been having a problem with because of that-

I felt like I couldn’t tell you guys about certain things, things like issues of having schoolwork and other problems, but that’s not any of your faults.

During this past summer, I was dealing with anxiety, not serious level of it, but I felt like throwing up for 4 weeks and barely even ate. I didn’t tell ANY of you guys about that, and that’s just ridiculous.I actually put out a comment that I quickly deleted saying how I was gonna take a break from the site because I needed time to adjust, but I NEVER want to do that. You know how often I go on the screwattack? 4, maybe 5 times A DAY, sometimes even more. Maybe that doesn’t seem like a lot, but I definitely think it is. I’m always on the site, whether I’m just scouting your comments or checking in on the forums, I’m there.

I started to blog here not only because I wanted to write about something I liked, but also to improve my writing skills and learn my way around the internet, because I do want to do something related to digital design and I actually like to write. Weird for a 16 year old right?

I always have time for this site. You guys really make me feel better about the life I live right now. And don’t worry about my 4 week anxiety thing, my life could NOT be any better now. I’ve been so happy in my life so far, and I wanted to let you guys know that you are a big reason for that.

I really want to put more work out there for you guys, I want to be more active on the site and I WILL be more active on the site. Now, if something comes up I can say why.

      By the way…

As a quick note, this secret has been going on for years, and let me just say I tricked you guys pretty good.

I put a comment out mentioning my beard, and some of you assumed I wasn’t a kid because of that. I started having facial hair at 14 lol , some of you guys haven’t? I cri everytiem.

And there was always mention of work in my comments, and while you could say it was work, I was referring to school work, since it’s basically work I just don’t get paid.

How Lousy of me wouldn’t ya say? (Even though lousy did a 100% better job at rounding about all the instances where you guys mentioned his riddle, while every instance of you guys mentioning my age is forever lost in thousands of comments that i'm admittedly too lazy to look through)

Haha, till next time guys, Kirby Kid signing off.

He worked with Lousy on the Kirby DEATH ANALYSIS which got me into doing what I do now, so if it weren’t for him as well, I would not be where I am now.

      profile-photo-131086-1440720276.png

    • DEATH ANALYSIS: King Dedede's Army Part 2!

      Kirbykid

      Ok… Ok… Yeah…

      IM BACK!!!

Jeez it took months but I finally got a computer to type this blog. Now that I have one, I’ll finally be able to make it up to you guys.

Finally we approach our second (and final) part to King Dedede’s army, and as promised last time, it will be about BOSSES. Just like part 1 I would like to note that not every monster in the kirbyverse serves Dedede, and other’s have made barely any appearances worth mentioning in this blog. Every canon except the manga canon (for lack of scans) will be taken into account. Now let’s get started.

      Bandana Waddle Dee

Just like the blog before it looks like we’ll be staring off with waddle dee’s… but not just any waddle dee, THE waddle Dee, and you know what? He’s worth his own Death Analysis section.

Every good king (if you can even call him that) needs a right hand man, and Bandana Dee serves as just that. While being best buds with one of the king’s greatest rival, Bandana Dee helps the king when in need, never leaving his side. On his spare time he likes to fish, or even enjoys helping out Kirby to save the world when he has the chance. Despite his overly cute appearance Bandana Dee lies within one of those categories of characters you should not underestimate, and if you don’t believe, I suggest you give me a chance before you make yourself look like a complete tool.

      Weapons/Abilities

      Spear

A standard wooden spear that packs an unexpectedly heavy punch. When fully charged Bandana Dee can send this spear crashing through metal casually in a single blow in Rainbow Curse. Despite his stubby little arms he’s actually surprisingly very skilled with it, capable of dozens of spear combos that shred through solid stone and metal.

While charging his power he can throw an excessive amount of spears at a time, around 3 at a time, in quick fashion. He can also use his spear for FLIGHT of all things, and spins the spear similar to that of the blades of a helicopter and take off.

      Head Cannon

In the new Rainbow Curse game, Bandana Dee gains the head cannon hat. Just like his spear he can charge the cannon for more attack power from the bullets in the cannon to make them charge through metal and other objects.

      Submarine

      Yup.

This little guy can somehow transform into a submarine. Ignoring how such a thing can occur (it’s best not to question it) this form allows him to fire rockets from his… face? Which he can then charge to be able to plow through metal blocks. This form, however, only appears to be effective underwater.

      Food

Being an assist character to mainly Kirby and Kirby Triple D, Bandana Dee is used to having to bring the characters support items along the way.

This ranges from pep brews, to cherries, apples, flan, ice cream, Maxim Tomato you name it he has it. These all heal health when eaten.

One item in particular known as the Reviving Tomato heals health once you are defeated; basically brining you back into the fight if you’ve been KO’d, and since he’s the only one who has normal access to the fruit, it stands to reason that he’d have this on hand in battle.

      Speed Feats

While the little guy may not have much movement on the ground he packs some serious reaction speed. With his ability to fly in the air by rotating his spear, he’s capable of taking off helicopter style, and while he does this the spear can still plow through solid rock with ease.

For some real life reference helicopter blades spin at speeds just around mach 1. The fact that Bandana Dee damages stone and metal while doing this suggests that he can go much faster, proving that his reactions are far above mach 1.

      Strength Feats

Just like Kirby, Bandana Waddle Dee appears in Megaton punch, and is able to crack a pretty good part of Popstar. Other than that he's capable of casally piercing metal block with a WOODEN spear.

      Durability Feats

Has tanked blasts from Magalor without a scratch, and has tanked atmospheric re-entry multiple times with no trouble.

      Summary

What’d I tell ya? This little guy is capable of doing some pretty over powering, and quite unexpectedly strange things. Is he all the hype I’m making him out to be?

      Advantages

      • Surprisingly very powerful if we include his Megaton Punch feat
      • Unlimited amount of spears ensures Waddle Dee on extra’s just in case
      • Head cannon is a very versatile projectile weapon
      • If he has the Reviving Tomato he can get back up if he’s been taken out from a fight

      Disadvantages

      • Submarine form is semi useless unless he’s in water
      • Megaton Punch is the only place where his country cracking feat is displayed, leaving it up in the air of whether or not he really can crack a country to Wiz and Boomstick
      • Doesn’t have a… mouth???

      Recommended Fighters

      Bowser Jr.

Just like King Dedede, Bowser has a right hand man, who just happens to be his own son. Given the fact that they’re both pretty famous henchman of selfish kings, it’d be interesting to see how the little guys would fare against one another, especially with their varying tech and skill.

      KAOS

A jet propelled robot and one of the higher ups in K. Rool’s army, who  actually led the Kremling Krew on 2 separate occasions. Since K. Rool would most likely be held up in a fight between Bowser or Dedede it’d be very likely he’d let KAOS deal with one of Dedede’s (and Bowser’s) higher ups since he did so with the DK krew.

Whew, ok we finally got through Bandana Dee. From here on we’ll be looking at the higher up bosses who’ve worked for Dedede in the past.

      Whispy Woods

If you’ve never heard of this guy you’ve never played a Kirby game in your life. Known as one of the most prominent and easy bosses in the Kirby series, Whispy is the mighty oak tree that repeatedly tries to drop apples on our main hero’s head. He can also blow puffs of air or stick his roots through the ground to spear through enemies.

If he grows enraged his power increases dramatically, increasing both his size and his arsenal. He can now drop poisonous apples along with purple worms and even Gordos and Scarfy’s.  He can also increase his size by either stacking himself on more wood or just outright growing in size, increasing the effectiveness of his attacks. He also gains an inhale move that sucks in opponents similar to Kirby’s inhale, and once they’re in his mouth he continues to chomp as they lay in there.

He can also use his roots to move himself off the ground, making mobile and even more threatening.

      Paint Roller

This little guy can paint pretty much anything it draws and bring it to life. This ranges from cars and thunder clouds to Waddle Dees and even Kirby himself. In the anime the things he can draw include Dedede himself with a laser beam capable of blasting through solid marble columns.

Paint Roller can even draw high grade artillery with its paint, and can seemingly always summon a new paint brush if it ever loses the one it has on hand. His skates also allow it to travel fast enough to blade up walls and even ceilings.

      Mr. Shine & Mr. Bright

That’s right, Dedede got the sun AND the moon to serve him against Kirby (or rather to characters that closely resemble them). Well, whatever they are they control both night and day and can change it based on who’s in the sky.

If Mr. Shine (the moon) is in the sky he can cause it to rain stars. If Mr. Bright (the sun) is in the sky it will fire a solar blast from itself.

In Kirby Mass Attack in the strato patrol EOS game Mr. Bright can send out an omnidirectional blast from its body to scorch Kirby. The 2 can also perform a team attack in Kirby’s dreamland 2 where Mr. Shine eclipses Mr. Bright causing any area not in the eclipsed area to be scorched by Mr. Bright.

if Mr. Bright is taken out Mr. Shine can actually recreate Mr. Bright, but Mr. Bright is unable to bring back Mr. Shine because he lacks the ability to do so.

      Kracko

An eyeball in a… Spiky cloud. Kracko can fire off lightning bolts from its body and actually increase its size to fire larger and stronger lightning bolts than usual. He can also use rain as a method of attack, and unleash random trash from its body.

In the anime Kracko creates a cloud that covers all of Cappy Town and could fire lightning bolts from any area within these clouds. From his body he can create Starman and Waddle Doo’s that move and act on their own, and even smaller version of himself called Co- Kracko to charge into enemies.

Kracko can transform into a more purple and reptilian looking version of itself. An interesting thing to note about Kracko is even if he has been defeated, as long as there are clouds in the sky, he’ll always come back.

      Heavy Mole

Heavy Mole is a drilling machine that serves King Dedede that’s use is apparently to sneak up on foes from the ground. It can fire off missiles known as an enemy called Dygclops from its bum one of which has sleeping gas that can put Kirby to sleep once inhaled.

      Ice Dragon

This little guy can fire off blasts of ice, which can freeze things if shot. He’s also capable of flying into the air by rotating his tail, tail’s style, giving him brief flight.

In the anime Ice Dragon is capable of sending all of Cappy town into a snowstorm. In this snow storm Chilly’s can be formed.

      Sweet Stuff

A giant brown angler fish with a VERY unfitting name. In Kirby’s Dreamland 2 this enemy can fire electric blasts from its angular in either spark form or a rapid arrow shaped form. It usually is accompanied by Squishy’s and another enemy known as Tincell’s, which are basically one eyed star fish creatures.

      Kabula

The king’s flying fortress, and the lord of the sky. Kabula is a sentient air balloon, and SHE (yep it’s a girl) has a cannon mounted to the bottom of itself that fires a seemingly limitless amount of cannonballs. Its shot sot so many cannonballs that it even shot down Kirby while on his Warpstar.

Sometimes the cannon can shoot a stray Gordo, and Kabula can open half of its body to release an infinite amount of missiles that have a drastically similar appearance to Banzai Bills from the Mario series. It also can repeatedly use it’s body to ram into its opponent.

      Summary

I’m very aware that there are characters with way more expansive armies but… HOT DAMN was this a lot. King Dedede sure has a lot of able monsters on his side, but can they keep the fight going for as long as he needs to take the win?

      Advantages

      • A lot and I mean A LOT of Dedede’s minions can form new ones, from minibosses to bosses, he never has a shortage on monsters
      • Some monsters can cause environmental changes to the field, like Kracko and Ice Dragon.
      • Has a good balance of sky, land and sea minions
      • Some of Dedede’s minions know martial arts
      • Capsule J2 can travel casually at Mach 5
      • Simirror has reflective magic
      • Paint Roller can paint physical copies of Dedede himself
      • Many of Dedede’s minions can cause status effects
      • Tac’s can transform into any opponent simply by snatching them, giving Dedede access to other armies monsters

      Disadvantages

      • Some of Dedede’s monsters like to do whatever the hell they want on occasion, especially in the anime where this becomes more apparent
      • Some of Dedede’s minions don’t really do anything, one monster straight up just sits around and sleep
      • If we scale Kirby’s side to all these enemies they are extremely lacking in the height department
      • Can’t invade Equestria

    • DEATH ANALYSIS: The Mysteriously Masked Galaxia Wielding Knight of the Galaxy

      Kirbykid

      Hey guys, Kirby kid here!

Being who I am, Kirby is a series that I most definitely enjoy, going to such lengths as naming myself after the main character (I feel that’s some form of… Backwards Narcissism?) But anyways, for the longest time I had wanted to do a Kirby character, to which eventually led me into getting in depth with King Dedede and his army. My Kirby fanboysism didn’t stop there though, oh no, afterwards I wanted to do something more… Something involving Kirby just a little further. That’s when I decided to do this Metaknight blog.

And wouldn’t ya know it, somebody already did that!

But that didn’t stop me. I bring you here today to introduce you to the man who made that blog; would you care to introduce yourself?

Hey, I'm SuperBrawlhero, SBH for short... I know it's a totally random-ass name. I love Death Battle (obviously), video games, anime, a cluster of characters, math, science & physics (yeah), paradoxal stuff, derping around, laughing... sorry I got carried away. But mostly, I really enjoy talking with my very awesome friends here in Screwattack and LK64 in DA, even though my free time can be very limited sometimes.

That’s right; we’re doing a Metaknight Collab. Since I thought Super’s blog was filled with so much information, I would feel kinda like poop to just reuse that and label it as my own. Not that I’d copy him, but the man deserves better than that! So with his information meshing with mine, I’m sure we’ll make something that you guys will enjoy. Now let’s get started.

      BACKGROUND

      Metaknight

Metaknight is the masked swordsman in the Kirby series infamously known for his role as the mysterious anti-hero within the Kirby series. His first appearance was in Kirby’s adventure, where he’d occasionally help Kirby and then try to screw him over by sending his goons after him. You know, anti-hero stuff. Though it becomes apparent later on in that game, and the entire series, that his goal is to mentor Kirby so that he’s ultimately prepared for the final battle. He did have his “want to rule the world” phase in Super Star/Ultra, but he’s mainly been a rival/mentor figure for Kirby, especially if we consider the anime where he’s a full on mentor.

In the Kirby Right Back At Ya anime, there is a race of intergalactic heroes known as Star Warriors, made to rise against the evil Nightmare wizard from taking over the universe. Since the Star Warriors weren’t too keen on having their home ruled by evil forces, naturally a war broke out between good and evil. Of course, this happened at the absolute beginning of the galaxy’s birth, dating back more than 50,000 years before the main events of the anime. Metaknight was one of the first Star Warriors, and was IN that war all those years ago (Yeah he’s a lot older than he looks). At the end of the war, the Star Warriors had lost, most of them were killed, but amidst the carnage one warrior stood alone, and that badass was Metaknight. After surviving a war that had lasted millennia, he fled hoping that he may not be the last Star Warrior. He would eventually meet Kirby, and teach him how to be a Star warrior, so that he may one day defeat Nightmare, and save the universe.

Yeah his backgrounds a lot deeper than you thought, huh?

      Weapons/Skills

      Galaxia

Of course Metaknight didn’t get where he is now with just his fists and his wits. Metaknight wields the Galaxia sword, a sentient and indestructible golden blade forged by Pholtron, the mighty ruler of the fire people. The blade can only be wielded by who it deems is worthy of using its power, and that happens to be Metaknight… And Kirby, on occasion. Kirby is the only other character in the series to be able to wield Galaxia, mostly due to the fact that Kirby is of pure heart, being a child. Metaknight is truly worthy of the blade most likely due to his true valiancy. Not even Garlude, a fellow Star Warrior, and one of the best within the Star Warrior’s was able to wield it’s power, and sacrificed her life to give Metaknight the blade.

Oh yeah, whoever try’s to wield the blade and isn’t deemed worthy by the blade itself,  gets a good taste of magical lightning up in their grill.

Oh, and you know what? Galaxia can fight on its own, and when it does, it fires many meteors on the enemy. I’m not kidding…

By harnessing energy within his blade, Metaknight is capable of firing energy blasts (ooh lasers) from his sword, these range into multiple variants such as:

-Fire balls: There are two versions of his fire projectiles, the first one was used in Super star and Super star ultra while chasing Kirby and wheelie, they are small but can be summoned with a great number. The second ones are crescents of fire clearly more damaging used in "Squeak squad", Meta-Knight can even fire three of them at the same time. He doesn't need to charge to perform these attacks.

-Electrical charge: Metaknight hits the ground, resulting in a ground-traveling projectile in the form of an electrical charge. There's a second version of this attack in "Squeak Squad", where he stabs the ground, creating even a bigger electrical charge around him. It's not really a projectile, but it is an elemental attack.

-Sword beam: As explained before, a concentrated blast able to easily create immense crevasses in the ground, cut through a mountain and completely overwhelm the enemy's most durable defenses and slice them right in two.

His sword is capable of firing mini swords as well, and these swords home in on enemies.

His sword also allows him to duplicate himself, granting him with two to five clones at his disposal, capable of firing a single sword beam before vanishing.

The Galaxia sword can also be used by Metaknight to improve his abilities in battle.

      Meta Quick

This ability allows Metaknight to increase his speed.

      Heal

This ability allows Metaknight to heal himself entirely from all damage caused in battle.

      Mach Tornado

And finally the almighty Mach tornado.

The first variton of this attack is a standard Mach Tornado attack where he spins fast enough to create a cyclone and becomes temporarily invincible. In the Smash series this attack cancels out projectiles.

The second version of this attack Metaknight fires a huge tornado from his sword that travels across the screen at varying speeds.

The third version of this attack is his most powerful, where he creates a giant fire tornado that splits up into 2 giant fire tornadoes that WRECKS bosses and does more damage than Kirby’s crash ability, which destroyed a city sized UFO with ease. We’ll get more in-depth on Metaknight’s tornado ability later.

      Dimensional Cape

This cape allows Metaknight to manipulate space in order to teleport. There really wasn’t a name for this piece of weaponry until smash.Metaknight’s cape holds a pocket dimension that he can go into and out of during battle, and uses it in his final smash attack, Galaxia darkness (A move we’ll get into later), to trap foes. He can also turn his cape into wings (but we’ll ALSO get into that later).

      Galaxia Darkness

Metaknight’s final smash in the Smash Bros. games. This allows Metaknight to ensnare foes within his cape, taking them into the void that he uses to teleport, making them incapable of moving. He plunges a wide space into darkness and unleashes a series of deadly strikes.

      Battleship Halberd

Interestingly Ben and Chad have been pretty lenient on what they give their characters in DEATH BATTLE, leaving it up in the air to whether or not Metaknight will get this. It would make for a great battleground, if anything. The Halberd is Metaknight’s battle airship. In the anime the entire purpose of creating this was to combat the forces of Nightmare, but in Super Star/ Ultra he uses it to try and take over all of Dreamland.

The Halberd is capable of atmospheric and space flight. To resist to atmospheric entry, the Halberd is maybe made of fibers of reinforced carbon or an unspecified fictional metal. In the anime, this battleship traveled over 900 light years in a short period of time.

Metaknight stated that they needed to travel over 900 lightyears, and judging how long it took them in the episode, we can use this time to calculate the exact speed they were able to travel. So with some “simple” calculations we can put the Halberds speed at up to 11.2375 ly/s.

      So this adds up to over 106, 314, 958, 685, 626, 740 m/s.

For those incapable of pronouncing that, this feat is over one hundred six quadrillion, three hundred fourteen trillion, nine hundred fifty eight billion, six hundred eighty billion, six hundred twenty six thousand, seven hundred forty meters PER second. Of course this serves no combative purpose, but still a pretty interesting fact nonetheless. This ship is crazy fast.

      Combo Cannon

Shoot large canon-balls from its upper barrel. The lower barrel can fire a small but very powerful beam of highly concentrated energy, being able to knock down Dyna Blade (A big-ass bird that can cut hills only by flying next to them) in a single shot. In the anime, the beam fired is in a different color (Blue in the video-games, yellow in the anime), and it can destroy a city-sized mother-ship (Destroya) in one shot. I don't know if it has the same power in both sources, but the size of the beam is the same.

      Reactor

The reactor is an engine room full of Wheelies in the background that generates power. If its main part (The crystal in the middle of the structure) destroyed, the Halberd will start losing altitude since the reactor is the ship's main power plant.

It is guarded by a set of auto-defenses that includes:

-A cannon that shots a large damaging fire balls, can be destroyed separately.

-A series of burners under the ground that shoots fire beams that can be destroyed but will continue to regenerate.

-An extendable arm with a high tech laser gun. Thanks to one of the crew members, we know that it is the only weapon that can damage the crystal. So the only way to destroy the reactor in a direct fight is to make it shoot itself via the laser gun. Also, interesting fact: Meta-Knight's double Mach tornado attack can one-shot the entire structure, even the crystal!

      Speed Feats

Oh boy. This is where Metaknight absolutely shines at. On the ground Metaknight has been shown to fight at speeds faster than the eye can see in the mini-game Samurai Kirby. He’s actually quite difficult to beat.

In Metaknightmare Ultra, Metaknight straight up flies out of Popstar’s atmosphere and flies from one planet to the next. Metaknight does this casually throughout the game, and by the end of the game flies back from one side of the solar system back to Popstar in SECONDS. If we take the games summation below into account-

Metaknight is MASSIVELY faster than light, capable of crossing interstellar distances with ease, traveling a galaxy wide space in the span of 3 seconds if we take the ending of Metaknightmare Ultra into account. Either way you look at it, Metaknight is massively faster than light, and as such this should travel to his reaction speed as well, since he isn’t charging into any celestial bodies while flying at such speeds.

In case you didn't know, the speed of light exactly is 299,792,458 meters per second.

Since Earth and Popstar are in the same universe and both reside in the Milky Way, Metaknight had possibly crossed 100,000 light years in the span of 3 seconds.

      Durability Feats

Metaknight can tank atmospheric re-entry and the vacuum of space. During atmospheric re-entry, the heat of the object is around 5000C°. So yes, Meta-Knight can withstand a temperature of over 5000C°. In the anime Metaknight kept a large stone statue of Dedede from crushing Kirby and the gang by simply keeping it up but using nothing but his sword. This contributes not only to his strength (something we’ll get into later) but his durability as well. This should put his durability at over hundreds upon thousands of tons. This should aslo show just how much his sword can take.

Also, the mask Meta-Knight is wearing doesn’t work as a way to disguise his face only, but also for an additional protection. To my knowledge, Meta-Knight is the only Kirby character by far to wear an armor (kind of), excluding Galacta Knight... and Dark Meta-Knight.

When Meta-Knight experienced atmospheric re-entry many times, his mask too was unaffected by the high temperature. It didn't melt. And if you take the real-life metals into consideration, that's IMPOSSIBLE!!!  Iron melts at 1538C°, the Carbon at 3825C°, even the Titanium that is the most durable real-life metal melts at 1670C°. Yes, the Titanium is more durable than the Carbon, but his melting point is weaker. There's no real-life metal capable of resisting to 5000C°.

You may ask, then how can real-life rockets and satellites resist to atmospheric re-entry? That's because they are made from durable metals like the Titanium from the inside, at the outside, they are protected by fibers of reinforced Carbon, to resist to the high temperature. If the rocket / satellite weren’t made of reinforced Carbon, it cannot withstand 5000C° and will be reduced to dust. Another example is the meteorites, once they pass the atmosphere; their size is GREATLY decreased by the re-entry (Luckily).

Okay, now, back to Meta-Knight's mask. I don't know if it's made of fibers of reinforced Carbon. It's maybe made of a weird fictional metal from Kirby's planet (Pop star). Or it's just some weird logic.

Overall, the mask is not invincible, it still can be broken. Kirby broke it many times actually, but since the mask can withstand atmospheric re-entry, then it definitely gives additional defense.

Also, it makes Meta-Knight look badass. I guess no one will ever take him seriously if he didn't have the mask, because that's how he looks unmasked:

      Metaknight Kirby's father comfirmed.

There’s also one more thing to consider. Every boss Kirby comes across either explodes or gets knocked out, but whenever Metaknight battles him, he merely retreats, and has shown to come back after losing his fight as if nothing had happened (Super Star/Ultra) Metaknight will more than likely continue to battle even if his mask is missing. Also, Kirby is the only one who has broken Metaknight's mask, even if he loses all his vitality in game, his mask simply... pops off and he's gone, implying he teleported.

      Strength/Destructive Capability Feats

As mentioned before, supported the weight of a giant King Dedede statue that had to have weighed thousands upon thousands of tons.

His tornado powers are very powerful based of their scaling to Crash Kirby, so looking at these tornadoes; let’s see how powerful they are from a real life standard.

A tornado is a violently rotating column of air. They are visible in a form of condensation fuel, with violent winds spinning around with a speed reaching around 450km/h and even more, putting a high pressure around them. They can come in different sizes, so not all the tornadoes have the same force, but even the weakest tornadoes can easily smash through walls and, literally, make a well-built structure explode.

There is six types of tornado when we want to calculate their destructive force:

      • E-F0 : The weakest type, however it can still easily break large trees in two and destroy small buildings.
      • E-F1 : Can cause more damage to the environment than the E/F0.
      • E-F2 : This one is completely able of destroying mobile buildings.
      • E-F3 : We're not joking anymore here, this tornado can reduce larger buildings to scraps, literally.
      • E-F4 : It can toss heavy vehicles and large trees in the air, turning them into flying missiles, I don't need to talk about buildings anymore.
      • E-F5 : That one just erase everything on its path, total destruction.

For some comparison the largest and most destructive tornado in recorded history was an EF-5, and was 2.6 miles in length, and was an absolutely unstoppable force, tearing down literally everything in its path.

Metaknight’s tornadoes are made of fire, and believe it or not but these things are possible in real life. Fire whirls (the technical name for a fire tornado) can reach temperatures of over 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit.

      Natures fuck you to everything

Considering the type of foes Metaknight normally goes up against, his tornadoes should have the power of an E-F5 tornado no problem. The added fact that they’re also fire whirls is just icing on the cake.

Big thanks to coolnekochan for translating, AND allowing me to use these scans in my blog. Go check out his other stuff on DeviantArt and Tumblr!

Metaknight destroys his own halberd simply by flying through it.

      Feats and Experience

      • Single handedly, defeated the strongest warrior of the galaxy, Galacta Knight, who was sealed away because his power was so mighty, and whooped his ass just to become a stronger warrior
      • Fought against and trained Kirby many times
      • Defeated space manipulators like Magolor
      • In the anime, he was the last survivor of the star warriors after the war(though eventually he discovered that few star warriors survived too)
      • Built an entire battleship
      • Has lived for over 50,000 years in a constant war
      • Can wield a sword without hands
      • Got banned from Smash Bros. Brawl for being too good

      Weaknesses

Metaknight doesn’t seem to have any notable weaknesses. If anything were to count as a weakness it would have be his code of honor, refusing to combat a fighter unless they have a weapon of their own. He can be rash as seen in Super Star/Ultra, but is mainly the more focused one within the Kirby series.

      Summary

Meta-Knight is one of the deadliest characters in the Kirby franchise. He is a faster-than-light-flying-mysterious-masked-fast-sword-slashing-Halberd-owning-knight... What the hell did I just write?

What do you think? Was this armor plated puffball as OP as you expected? The Kirbyverse is known for their powerhouses, and Metaknight is no exception. How does he stack up?

      Advantages

      • Insanely and unbelievably fast
      • Can increase his already insanely fast speed because of his Meta Quick ability
      • Has the ability to heal all damage received thanks to his heal ability
      • Can clone himself into 5 duplicates
      • Mach Tornado has power comparable to Crash Kirby
      • If granted the Halberd has a lot of destructive capability on his side
      • Has lived for over 50,000 years in constant combat
      • Defeated the greatest warrior of the galaxy, which should stand as a testament to his fighting skill
      • Teleportation allows him to maneuver anywhere he wants
      • Based off of building the Halberd alone, is pretty damn intelligent in technology, and in general
      • Is OP in Brawl

      Disadvantages

      Recommended Fighters

      Zero

As if you didn’t see this coming. Zero is the badass Maverick hunter from the Megaman series. He’s known for his badassness and mystery just as much as Metaknight, and stands as the badass sword wielding version of his copy cat duo (Hopefully that sounds familiar) and mentors X throughout the X series. Zero and Metaknight have a lot of comparisons to each other, and it’s a fight that I and many other g1’s on the site would love to see.

Plus, it was already a one minute melee, and that did well. Why not transfer that popularity into DEATH BATTLE?

One of my most wanted battles. Zero defeated the star-level being Lumine and have a good futuristic arsenal, so he's sure to give a good fight to good ol' Meta!

      Shadow the Hedgehog

Another good battle I thought about too. Both badass warriors walk on the mysterious line between good & evil. And since Super Shadow can fly too, it'll be great to see them clash in a fast-paced brawl in outer space.

Characters have been shown to come back in DEATH BATTLE before, so if anyone were to come back, it would have to be Shadow. Thematically this makes for a great match, so it’d be cool to see these anti-heroes go all out against each other at intense speeds.

      Rocket Knight

Don’t really know where this match came from. I understand the reason for having the match, they’re both knights, but I see this being a huge stomp in Metaknight’s favor.

Ben once thought about this match, but it's honestly a hard stomp in Meta's favor, who can end the fight in less than 1 second... that wasn't figurativly speaking.

      Sephiroth

Admittedly I don’t know much about Sephiroth other than he’s fought Cloud Strife and is an incredibly powerful and feared swordsman. I hear random scales of power from this guy but it’d be cool to see Metaknight fight against someone who goes against everything Metaknight stands for, chivalry.

Nice idea. DB needs moar FF characters, and Sephiroth will be a good one to enter the arena. Given how hot of a shot he is, his fight against Meta Knight will be like a Magolor boss battle.

      Sesshomaru

This is a reccomendation thanks to g1 Grand Blazer, a character from the Inuyasha anime series. He also maintains a rival/mentor role of the main character, while at the same time wield a legendary blade.

      Yoda

I actually orignally wanted Metaknight to fight Yoda back when i had first become a g1 on the site, and after reading Grand Blazers suggestion on the character again it made me think about how cool the match up was back then. Both Metaknight and Yoda stand small but are not to be estimated thanks to their great abilities in combat. Definitely would be an interesting matchup to see.

Big thanks to SuperBrawlhero for helping me with a large chunk of information in this blog. Give the man support if you haven’t already!.

Finally got this blog out just in time, and while I could give you guys a sneak peak at the next combatant, I’ll indulge you with a little riddle instead.

      Next time on DEATH ANALYSIS..

"I howl at the sun, shining light on a world once ruled by evil. I will brush aside any opponent that crosses my path, even at the expense of my own safety."

Till next time, Kirby Kid (and SuperBrawlhero) signing off.

    • DEATH ANALYSIS: King Dedede's Army Part 1!

      Kirbykid

Sorry if you guys were expecting Cole’s blog to show up instead of this one. After a recent discussion with a fellow g1 named ultraguy, we both sort of realized that the kings we both blogged about have armies DEFINITELY worth decribing, especially if DEATH BATTLE ever decides to do another Wily vs. Eggman fight. Not to worry though, the next blog will definitely show the character previewed last time.

As mentioned before, this blog series will be stretched out into 2 parts, with this first part being mainly about the smaller more frequent minions in King Dedede’s army (including mini bosses) and the second part being about the boss minions in Dedede’s army. It should be noted that not every monster serves Dedede (Which thank god because that means less research for me)and some enemies in Dedede’s army have barely made any appearances in the Kirby games, so don’t expect every monster from the Kirby series to show up here.

Every canon besides the manga canon of these minions will be considered (since manga scans are largely absent throughout the internet), and enemies will be put into different classes. Now let’s get started.

      Waddle Dee’s

Waddle Dee’s are the standard Kirby enemy in Kirby games, and are ruled by King Dedede himself. Not every Waddle Dee seems to be ruled by King Dedede, but he seems to rule over most of them, and they only serve King Dedede because they serve whoever gives them hospitality. They are generally peaceful, but come in different variants that could take on just about any threat.

      Parasol Waddle Dee

Parasol Waddle Dee’s were the first type of Waddle Dee’s in the series and while they are typically harmless while floating throughout the air, taking out the Waddle Dee hanging onto the Parasol will result in a full scale assault from the Parasol the Waddle Dee was hanging onto, and then it will eventually explode.

Standard combat with this Parasol includes a basic Parasol swing, a drill attack, acts like a shield to falling object, and a circus throw ability that allows Waddle Dee to catch an enemy on top of the Parasol and toss them off. There is a cross variant of both the spear and parasol Waddle Dee where taking out the parasol will result in a spear thrust from the Waddle Dee.

      Spear Waddle Dee

Spear Waddle Dee’s are… Well, Waddle Dee’s that wield spears. They can throw the spears they have for a ranged attack or become a mixed variant with Parasol Waddle Dees as said before.

      Bomb Waddle Dee

Bomb Waddle Dee’s are, you guessed it, Waddle Dee’s that hold bombs. The bombs themselves are powerful enough to take down a brick wall, and this variant of Waddle Dee seems to have an infinite number of bombs at its disposal.

      Giant Waddle Dee

This variant of Waddle Dee is a larger version of a regular Waddle Dee, and is harder to kill and inhale then regular ones. This type of Waddle Dee also comes in the bomb variant of Waddle Dee’s, and the Star Block Waddle Dee in Kirby Mass Attack which is a giant Waddle Dee wearing a Star block as armor.

      Wapod

Wapods are weird ghost like Waddle Dee’s that endlessly come out of jars. They first appeared in Kirby’s Dreamland 3, and really don’t do anything other than float aimlessly in the air.

      Golden Waddle Dee

Golden Waddle Dee’s have slightly higher durability than regular Waddle Dee’s, and move faster than regular ones as well. Once defeated they drop chests containing random items.

Whew… We are now ending the Waddle Dee part of this blog, but don’t worry though, there is MUCH more to go through.

      Forces on the ground

      Cappy

Cappy’s are gyroid looking enemies that wear mushroom caps on their heads which they can shoot high into the air, with no real rhyme or reason to.

Another species of Cappy called Poison Mash appears in Kirby Super Star Ultra with the same abilities as Cappy, but are both stronger and faster than regular cappy’s.

      Grizzo

Grizzo’s are large bear-like enemies that will charge into enemies and can be ridden by Poppy Bros. They are among the most durable Kirby enemies within the series with their ability to take more hits from enemies.

Another species of Grizzo called Galbel exists in the Revenge of the King minigame in Super Star Ultra, and look like tigers rather than bears like Grizzo’s do.

      Pengi

Pengi is an ice penguin that shoots out a breeze of cold air capable of freezing monsters instantly. Just like penguins they can slide along the ground on their bellies, and in Kirby squeak squad if you possess a Pengi as Ghost Kirby their Ice breath is cold enough to freeze molten lava solid.

      Hot Head

A Hot Head is a fire enemy that can fire either a stream of fire or a fire ball randomly.

      Bubble Head

A different variant of the Hot Head called a Bubble Head appears in squeak squad, and can shoot a stream of bubbles and a bubble ball similarly to how Hot Head attacks with its fire.

Bubble Heads also have the ability to turn other monsters into copy essences which are sealed in bubbles if someone were to possess one as Ghost Kirby.

      Kabu

Kabu is a statue head enemy that turns invisible and intangible randomly when in battle. It also rockets into the air after reappearing in battle.

Another version of Kabu named Grumples appears in the hard version of Kirby’s Dreamland and Revenge of the King with a more sporadic and random attack pattern.

      Shotzo

Shotzo is an indestructible cannon. These cannon have another variation where it is attached to a Parasol and shoots cannonballs to keep its self afloat. There is another type of Shotzo called Blatzy appears in the hard mode of Kirby’s Dreamland and Revenge of the King which shoots at a much faster rate than regular Shotzo’s.

Another species of Shotzo called Moto Shotzo is a Shotzo on wheels, basically like a moving tank. This type of Shotzo can be killed however.

      Bomber

Bomber is a dangerous walking bomb that explodes a significant blast radius. Though the scale of this explosive is not described it’s powerful enough to grant Kirby the Crash ability, and this enemy can take out every other monster on screen making it dangerous to everyone.

      Sparky

Sparky’s are enemies that release a protective electric barrier around their bodies.

      Noddy

This overpowered motherfucker attacks by SLEEPING. Watch yourself out there folks, Noddy Exists.

In all seriousness though this thing is utterly USELESS… unless someone eats one, then they go to sleep for over 100 years (according to the anime).

      Forces in the sky

      Bronto Burt

Bronto Burt’s are basically Waddle Dee’s but in the air, and don’t really have many forms of attack other than ramming into an enemy.

Another species of Bronto Burt appears in the hard mode to Kirby’s dreamland and Revenge of the King as a tougher version of Bronto Burt named Koozer , which is essentially the same as a Bronto Burt but stronger and faster.

      Flamer

Flamer is a fire monster that can cling onto any surface and move like a wheel, but if an enemy gets too close it will float into the air, engulf itself in flames, and ram into it.

      Laser Ball

Can’t get over how incredibly creative these names are

Laser Ball is a monster that can fire multiple lasers from its… head, body, thing and soon after doing so it floats away to prevent itself from being hurt. Its laser can also reflect off angled surfaces.

      Scarfy

A fine example of how terrifying Kirby enemies really are

Don’t be fooled. This cute looking monster turns into a vicious one eyed beast after getting hit, or if you attempt to suck it in. Inhaling it pisses it off, but

When it turns into a monster it homes in on the thing that pissed it off in the first place. After a while though, it will… um… Explode.

An equally as terrifying yet more powerful copy of Scarfy named Mad Apple appears Kirby Super Star Ulltra, which basically functions the same way as Scarfy with the exception of being in battle longer before eventually exploding.

      Starman

Starman just fly throughout the sky and occasionally float through it. They can also be produced by Kracko by being dispelled out of its body.

      Twister

Twisters are small monsters that resemble tops, and spin fast enough to transform into tornado. While in tornado form it becomes invincible, but only lasts for a limited time.

      UFO

UFO’s are one of the rarest Kirby enemies in the series and one of the strongest ones as well. According to the cast information in Kirby’s Epic Yarn they are very unpredictable and fire lasers at precise accuracy.

      Helper to Hero Enemies

In Kirby Super Star Ultra standard Kirby enemies were revealed to have the same amount of skill as Kirby in Helper to Hero, so those attacks will be implemented into those enemies, especially if you consider the fact that Sakurai has referenced Kirby enemies to be able to use attacks similar to Kirby’s on enemy trophies in the Smash series. Also having the most fleshed out attacks than other Kirby enemies this makes them more susceptible to being in DEATH BATTLE than the rest of the Kirby enemies.

      Knuckle Joe

Knuckle Joes are masters at martial arts and fast paced combat. Given their martial artist appearance Knuckle Joes are experts in Muay Thai boxing, a form of martial arts that was originally made for warfare that involves using fists, knees, feet, and elbows to the fullest in combat.

Now aside from the normal human martial arts Knuckle Joe’s know, they come with Ki attacks like the Vulcan Jab(a flurry of blinding Ki blasts), Smash Punch (a concentrated Vulcan jab that comes out larger and more powerful), and the Rising Break (a Ki charged fist similar to a Shoryuken from the Street Fighter series).

      Sir Kibble

Sir Kibble is an enemy fully armored with a bladed boomerang on its head. When this enemy throws its boomerang, it can sometimes fool its enemy by throwing it in the opposite direction and jump over the boomerang on its way back for maximum reach from the boomerang. When an enemy is close this monster can use it’s cutter like a sword and use the nonstop cutter attack which is a flurry of cutter attacks which end in a sword beam-esque finisher.

      Capsule J2

Capsule J2 is the upgraded version of Capsule J, and this enemy would’ve made it into the Flying enemies’ category if it weren’t for the fact these enemies can fly up to speeds of Mach 5!

These monsters can charge their backpacks and either fly at Mach 5 speeds or save the charged up power for an explosive super jump. Once fully charged they can also fire an energy attack called Jet Cracker, which results in an energy blast, and can grab enemies and fire them up with their jet blow attack or use their jet packs to fly enemies into the sky and back down to the ground.

      Wheelie

Wheelie is a sentient one eyed wheel that travels fast enough to travel on water. It can increase its speeds by jumping into the air similar to how Kirby does it in his wheel Kirby form. As said in the King Dedede blog, these things can drive almost as fast as wheel Kirby, which drove through an entire race course multiple times in a few seconds.

      Waddle Doo

Waddle Doo’s, put simply, are Waddle Dee’s with the ability to fire electricity out of their eyes… Uh, I mean eye. They come in the Parasol variant of themselves similar to Waddle Dee’s, but they can fire giant beams of electricity out of their eyes as seen in the boss fight to Kracko in Strato Patrol EOS.

Doo’s can use a cycle beam attack which is a spiraling attack of beam energy and the beam blast which results in a  shower of beam energy downward. They can also be summoned by Kracko by coming out of its body.

      Simirror

Simirror’s are wizard looking enemies that excel at reflecting magic. They can use their wands like a cutter, and summon an infinite amount of mirrors that can reflect any projectile. They can project doubles of themselves, and cover themselves in a protective barrier of reflective magic. They can also fake their own deaths and fade away and teleport into another location.

      Plasma Wisp

Plasma wisp’s are sentient spark’s of plasma energy. Attacks are done by shooting different levels of electricity depending on how charged the wisp is.

They can fire a basic plasma needle with no charge, on a single charge they can shoot a plasma arrow, a plasma arrow with another charge, a plasma spark afterwards, then a plasma laser to plasma wave, all the way to the final charge a plasma barrier, which is the strongest charge they can produce. They can also protect themselves with the surrounding charge produced for its attacks, and can create an electrical force field from its own body.

      Burning Leo

Burning Leo’s are capable of basic fire attacks like Flame breath and Flame Charges, but they can also charge fire into themselves for a special fire attacks sprung from the body. One of these attacks called Fireball Inferno turns Burning Leo into a giant burning Fireball, and does the most damage than any other fire attack.

      Chilly

Chilly is an ice monster that expels an icy aura around its body cold enough to freeze enemies into a solid block of ice, and can also be shot out as frost breath. Chilly can also suck in enemies into its body leading to an instant freeze followed by an ice ejection that shoots the frozen monster out in a frozen block of ice.

It can also create icicles in the air and throw them down on top of enemies, and protect themselves in a block of ice.

      Poppy Bros. Jr.

*Insert obligatory Game Grumps meme here*

Poppy Bros. Jr. have an infinite number of bombs at his disposal, and is one of the most acrobatic minions in Dedede’s army. They balance themselves on apples or Maxim Tomatoes and try to ram into enemies or jump off what their balancing on to evade an attack dealt to it. When next to a foe Poppy Bro can instantly set a bomb onto said enemy leaving it unable to move until it eventually explodes.

Another species of Poppy bros. named Perot appears in Revenge of the King that has a more mime-like appearance, and can do anything Poppy bros. can do with the exception of a variant that can throw boomerangs.  These types of Poppy Bros. are also more violent and can take more hits than regular Poppy Bros.

      Rocky

Rocky’s are among the most durable Kirby enemies in the series, and attack by levitating into the air and ground pounding an enemy below it. They can turn into numerous stone objects, all of which weigh up to 8 tons (if you scale the 8 tons stone form to the other stone objects).

      Birdon

Birdon’s can shoot out their feathers from their wings which are somehow capable of harming enemies, and in addition to that they can charge their heads into the ground for a Bomber head attack or Condor Dive attack that results in a small shockwave once contact is made with the ground.

      Bio Spark

This monster is probably the most diverse Kirby enemy in the series, and possibly one of the most lethal because of this. Bio Sparks are master ninjas, capable of clinging to walls, disappearing into the shadows with their Hide Guard technique which activates after they get hit, the Air Drop attack that grabs an enemy up into the air and back into the air (and somehow ends in an explosion), and the Quad shock attack that creates a small scaled shockwave that travels a few feat. In addition to all those attacks they also have an infinite amount of Kunai’s.

Kirby Squeak Squad added an extra piece of equipment in Bio Spark’s inventory which includes an invisibility cloak that makes this monster completely invisible.

      Tac

Tac’s are ninja like cat enemies in the Kirby series, and their bags contain a hyperspace capable of holding a limitless amount of food and monsters. They attack by flinging their hands at enemies and stuffing the enemy into their bag, but can also charge their hands and unleash an explosive hand attack.

Tac’s also have a similar power to Kirby where they can copy an opponent’s abilities simply by snatching them and seemingly absorb them.

      Minibosses

Minibosses are more powerful than any of the basic foot soldiers in Dedede’s army, and have more advanced move sets than them on a regular basis.

      Bonkers

A large enemy that wields a giant hammer that can down entire walls. He can use regular hammer Kirby attacks including the hammer flip technique that causes the hammer to be charged with fire, and can infinitely throw hammers that explode soon after being tossed.

In addition to his move set, he can also throw explosive coconuts that come in different sizes.

      Bugzzy

Bugzzy is a giant pro wrestling bug that uses it’s pincers to grab foes. After grabbing an enemy it follows up with a back breaker, body slam, pile driver, or a big suplex. Bugzzy can also follow up with a rapid fury stomp that uses the monsters feet into kicking an enemy rapidly on the floor, and can grab enemies and bring them up to the air and soon afterwards, slam them into the ground. Bugzzy can also fly and summon small versions of itself to fly into enemies.

      Fire Lion

Fire Lion, as the name suggests, is a lion fully covered in fire. In addition to being a flaming pussy this monster can charge itself with fire and dash into enemies and also fire blasts of fire out of its mouth. King Dedede also has a pair of these lions called “Twin Fire Lion” that’s basically just 2 Fire Lions.

      Grand Wheelie

Grand Wheelie is a giant version of the basic wheelie enemy found within Dedede’s army. In addition to being bigger, it is also stronger, faster, and has the ability to create more wheelie enemies at will.

      Mr. Frosty

Mr. Frosty, while also being the most expressive Kirby miniboss, has the power of ice. This mid-boss can veil himself in ice and swoop around the sky, and throw blocks of ice that vary in size. If close Mr. Frost will just gulp up an enemy and shoot them out, similar to Kirby’s Ice suction attack.

In addition to all that Mr. Frosty also has the tendency to flare his ass to Kirby, which would most likely be a distraction method of attack, or, you know, he could just like twerking.

      Mr. Tick-Tock

Mr. Tick-Tock can surround himself in a protective sound barrier, and shoot out musical notes by ringing his bells, eh, however suggestive that may be.

      Phan Phan

Phan Phan attacks by using it’s trunk to grabs enemies and throw them around the stage. It also has a rolling attack where it rolls itself into enemies, and can throw apples at enemies for a much needed ranged attack.

      Poppy Bros. Sr.

Poppy Bros. Sr. is essentially a Poppy Bros. Jr. with the exception of throwing more bombs at faster paces. He also jumps around the stage and can potentially plop one on an enemies head.

Whelp, there you have it. Dedede’s basic foot soldiers. Unfortunately I won’t be ending this off how I usually do, I’ll list the advantages/disadvantages of Dedede’s army in part 2, but…

Next time on DEATH ANALYSIS.. After next times DEATH ANALYSIS..

      Part 2.

    • DEATH ANALYSIS: The Watch Wearing Hero of the Universe!

      Kirbykid

Hey G1’s! Welcome to my first blog ever! Before I get started I would love to thank ultraguy, SuperBrawlhero, and just like every other DEATH ANALYSIS author before me, I would also like to thank the LousyTactician for inspiring me to make this.

Now there will be some things I would like to address. Ben will not be given feats from any of his video games, live action movies, or any other non-canon content because of how much they differ from the original cartoon. Ben has access to 70+ aliens from his watch, and as much as I would LOVE to do research on all of them I have limited Ben’s alien usage to 10 (for obvious reasons). I will also only focus on the alien transformations  that have had greater significance than any of the other Ben transformations, or ones that I think Ben would normally use based on what he uses in the show. I also will not include any of Ben’s Ultamatrix transformations because Ben has a new watch without the function to evolve his aliens. Now let’s get started.

      Background

Benjamin “Ben” Kirby Tennyson (Yes, Kirby) was a normal, immature 10 year old kid, when on his first night of summer vacation his life would change forever. Thought to be a falling star by Ben, a pod holding possibly the strongest weapon in the galaxy, the Omnitrix, fell to Ben’s feet. After reaching into the pod to grab it, the Omnitrix genetically attached itself to Ben’s left wrist, giving him the power of over 10 aliens. After going a whole summer of fighting aliens, evil scientists, and sorcerers, Ben took a 5 year long break leading up to his teenage years in Alien force. After reluctantly giving up his normality for the greater good, Ben had put the watch back on resulting in its recalibration, which in-turn gave Ben the access to over 24 new aliens. Throughout the series Ben is shown to be cocky and immature to his enemies, even while fighting, and tends to rely too much on his alien transformations in combat. Earlier in the series Ben usually relied on basic brute strength to fight his enemies, but later on began to focus on strategy to some extent in his future series. Even though he’s arrogant at times he’s shown to be very heroic, putting himself in danger for the safety of others and fighting enemies stronger than him when he is needed.

      Skills

Ben is undoubtedly weaker in his human form, but even then he comes with a few tricks for himself. It was revealed in Be-Knighted that Ben was taught a little bit of hand-to-hand combat by his cousin Gwen who is a black belt in Karate. He also passed Plumbers’ Academy, a school made to train future intergalactic soldiers, with a score of 95 out of a 100 without using any of his alien transformations.

      Weaknesses

Even though it’s a little contradictory, Matt Wayne (one of the writers for Ben 10) has revealed that Ben isn’t a skilled fighter, and solely relies on free-style fighting. Even though the Omnitrix is one of Ben’s main abilities it can also be his main weakness. The Omnitrix has a timer that lasts for 5 minutes, and when the timer hits, Ben uncontrollably reverts back to his human form and has to wait for the watch to recharge which takes an equal amount of time as when it was used. Another big problem for Ben is that he almost never gets the alien he clicks for. This is a result of Ben slamming the Omnitrix too hard which inadvertently causes the Omnitrix to scroll before transformation. This can either be very beneficial to Ben or very detrimental for him. Ben is also unable to master the Omnitrix‘s true potential, since he is unable to use the Master Control or Randomizer unless it is enabled by the watches creator, Azmuth. When he transforms into an alien he also gains that aliens strengths and weaknesses.

      Standard Equipment

      Omnitrix

Ben only usually carries one weapon at all times, and that would be the Omnitrix. The Omnitrix has changed over the years for Ben, but in the season finale of Ultimate Alien, Ben got the standard Omnitrix that Azmuth (the watches creator) had been working on ever since Ben had gotten the original Omnitrix when he was 10. This Omnitrix came with over 16 new alien transformations and even a few added features like the holographic interface used to select an alien and a face plate to cover the Omnitrix’s core. The Omnitrix also comes with a quick change feature which allows Ben to transform from alien to alien without having to revert back to human form. If Ben is in an alien transformation, and is killed, he will revert back into his human self, albeit unconscious.

      Transformation

The Omnitrix allows Ben to transform into 70+ aliens, each with their own unique abilities and traits. However, because of the overwhelming amount of information and research that would be required, I will be limiting Ben’s transformations to 10 (as I’ve stated before). This list is not in any specific order.

      XLR8

Definitely one of Ben’s fastest, if not the fastest alien transformation in Ben’s Omnitrix. XLR8 is a speed demon, and has been used by Ben a lot throughout the series, and has been proven to be very useful in dire situations. XLR8 is able to run so fast because the balls at his feet manipulate friction and allows him to reach speeds of over 500 mph within 2 seconds. With his speed he is also capable of creating small tornadoes strong enough to lift a Way Big, an alien at least 100 feet tall, into the air for a few seconds.

XLR8’s reflexes and attacks are also enhanced to the point where it looks like time isn’t moving at all in some cases. He also has a visor which presumably is to protect his face.

      Weaknesses

Because of XLR8’s ability to manipulate friction to move so fast, he can’t travel well on all surfaces that don’t have a lot of friction like water or ice. He can also be stopped by strong adhesives, and as seen in the episode Rules of Engagement XLR8 can be held down in one place if he is grabbed by the tail, quite easily too.

      Cannonbolt

One of Ben’s more defensive aliens. Ben spent an entire episode trying to figure out what this alien is capable of, and is one of the few aliens to actually be used in all 4 series of Ben 10, so I think this is a power Ben would prefer in battle.  Cannonbolt is covered in powerful plating capable of taking lasers with little trouble, and is able to protect himself from atmospheric re-entry.

Cannonbolt can roll into a ball at really high speeds and go through very solid materials like the Great One’s shell in The Big Tick or brick walls. Cannonbolt can also survive in space but still needs to breathe, otherwise he will need to hold his breath.

      Weaknesses

A short coming with Cannonbolt’s speed is that he still follows the “physical laws of reflection and conservation of momentum”, meaning that he has trouble stopping or controlling his direction if he picks up speed. When not curled into a ball Cannonbolt is really slow and top-heavy, making him easy to fall over. Most of his defense comes from his armor plating, when inside he has no sort of defense, leaving him helpless if he were to get hit anywhere else.

      Ghostfreak

Just like Cannonbolt, Ghostfreak is one of the only aliens to be used throughout all 4 series, and is one of the few aliens to actually take control of Ben when transformed into. In Mystery, Incorporeal, Ghost freak’s data was the only alien available throughout the entire Omnitrix, making this alien, to me, more significant.

Ghostfreak comes with what you think a ghost would have; invisibility, intangibility, possession, etc. When in this form he also has tentacles that can keep a bus from falling over and tip it back over. When he possesses someone he is also able to use their powers and abilities against them.

      Weaknesses

Ghostfreak’s intangibility/invisibility comes from the protoplasm that’s on his skin. As a result it can be solidified making him unable to go intangible. Being that Ghostfreak mostly relies on his invisibility/intangibility in battle he is not a fast fighter or flyer, making him one of Ben’s slower aliens.

      Diamondhead

One of Ben’s most strongest aliens, and one that he has the most experience with. Diamondhead’s body is composed of green organic crystals that are stronger than DIAMONDS. He can shoot crystals from his body for projectile’s, and can randomly generate crystals from the ground. His body is similar to that of a living prism, so he can refract laser fire at an enemy if shot at by one.

He can manipulate his body’s structure to some extent, able to make his hands into spikes or weapons like blades or bludgeons. Ben has probably the most experience with this form, able to go head-to-head with Vilgax, Ben’s worst nemesis who defeated the heroes of 10 worlds, and win. He can also regenerate, but only to some extent.

      Weaknesses

Though Diamondhead has proven to be very strong in most cases, due to his structure as a living crystal he can be ripped apart by strong ultra sonic vibrations.

      Way Big

Way Big is one of Ben’s biggest transformations. Being over 100 feet tall, Way Big’s size and strength make him one of Ben’s go-to-aliens when fighting a powerful opponent. He feels little damage from enemies smaller than him, and is powerful enough to take out an entire army! Oh, let’s not forget he can fire a giant, green beam of destruction from just crossing his arms!

With his strength he is also capable of throwing small enemies OUT OF ORBIT, and one time threw a garbage monster all the way to the Sun in The Widening Gyre!

(Granted the monster wasn't that big when he threw it out of orbit but still!)

      Weaknesses

Being that he’s over 100 feet tall, he isn’t that hard to spot in combat. Being as big as he is bulky he’s INCREDIBLY slow (though he did receive a glitch power in The Widening Gyre, but I’m choosing to ignore it since it only appeared in 1 episode, and it is a glitch). In the movie Ben 10: Destroy All Aliens it was revealed that a Way Big’s weakness is the fin on his head, and a hit there can result in paralysis.

      Swampfire

Swampfire was the first alien Ben had transformed into after his 5 year break. Since Swampfire is a mixture between Heatblast and Wildvine (2 aliens that would’ve made the list if it were not for Swampfire) I’m giving Ben this transformation instead. Swampfire emits methane from his palms and ignites it, giving him the ability to shoot fire out of his hands. With this fire ability he is able to rocket himself into enemies or fly into the air from shooting a constant stream of fire.

Swampfire, being a plant, is capable of controlling plants. He also uses the seeds on his body like small bombs, and can regenerate limbs by either growing a vine from the detached body part and connecting back to the body, or just plain growing it back (which kinda makes growing a vine to attach the body part seem really redundant).

      Weaknesses

If Swampfire is continuously ripped apart, there will be no way for him to keep regenerating. He can also be frozen because he is a plant (though he can thaw out from igniting the methane in his palms).

      Spidermonkey

This was hard because I was trying to choose between Goop, Echo Echo, and this guy, but Spidermonkey broke the tie for being the most used out of the 3 of them.  Spidermonkey is extremely athletic, capable of outmaneuvering enemy attacks and can handle a group because of his 4 arms. He is able to shoot webbing from his tail, which is strong to tangle cars and big aliens.

      Weaknesses

Spidermonkey can get stuck in his own webbing, and his webbing can be dissolved by a strong enough heat source.

      Big Chill

Just like Ghostfreak, Big Chill is one of only other aliens to actually control Ben through the Omnitrix. Similarly to Ghostfreak, Big Chill is capable of going invisible and intangible, and can survive sub zero temperatures, or extreme heat. Big Chill is capable of blowing cold air from his mouth which is capable of freezing enemies, and can even spread cold through contact or even phasing through somebody’s body.

Big Chill has even demonstrated really powerful strength, capable of ripping apart metal statues, eating various other types of metals and even drinks molten steel in Save the Last Dance.

      Weaknesses

Surprisingly, Big Chill can be frozen, possibly negating his intangibility. His intangibility is also done consciously, not reflexively, so it can’t instantly be activated when surprised. In the episode Map of Infinity, Big Chill is revealed to be unable to go through other intangible matter, making his intangibility useless against another being that is intangible.

      Feedback

Feedback is literally Ben’s favorite alien transformation in the show, so seeing this alien in battle is highly likely to happen. Feedback is capable of shooting electrical blasts from his hands and can even form energy balls by joining his finger tips. Being a living conductor Feedback is capable of absorbing any type of electrical attack, and uses it against his enemies.

Feedback can also stretch his ears and fingers to plug into enemies and shock them. He is also very athletic and capable of stretching any part of his body at will.

      Weaknesses

Feedback can be hurt by anything that isn’t electric, and mostly relies on the energy he receives from others in order to do any real damage.

      Humungousaur

Last but not least we have the very powerful Humungousaur. This alien transformation makes a good replacement for all of Ben’s more bulky alien transformations, all of which Ben has A LOT of, and it’s also one of Ben’s most used alien transformation as well. Humongousaur stands at over 12 feet tall, but is able to grow over 60 feet tall, making his skin rougher and have more rigid features like extra scales or spikes on his spine. He can even survive in space (but only for a few minutes). Humungousaur’s skin is also durable enough to not feel pain from physical attacks.

Humungousaur has proven to be quite powerful when on a rampage, having the strength to lift an entire warehouse and chuck it through 3 other warehouses before it gives out in Map of Infinity! With his ability to grow up to 60 feet his power increases, making him one of Ben’s strongest aliens.

      Weaknesses

Just like every other bulky alien transformation Ben has, Humungousaur is very slow in combat. While he is invulnerable to most physical attacks anyone equally as strong as him in whatever size he is in have proven a competition for Ben, and he is also regularly hurt by energy attacks, since they aren’t physical.

We’re almost done here but I’d like to talk about at least one more alien that I know some of you will question isn’t on the list.

      Alien X

Ben’s absolute strongest alien form. While in this form Ben becomes omnipotent, able to warp reality, time, you name it. When the entire Universe was being destroyed in So Long, And Thanks For All The Smoothies, Alien X was not affected by the surrounding destruction, and RECREATED the entire universe that was being destroyed. Taking this alien down won’t be an easy thing.

      Weaknesses

Being Ben’s strongest alien form and surviving destruction on a universal scale you’d think Alien X would be able to do anything right? Actually it’s the exact opposite. Alien X is filled with 2 beings, Serena (the voice of love and compassion) and Bellicus (the voice of rage and aggression). They are the 2 personalities that live inside of Alien X, and their whole purpose is to argue until they agree with each other. With Ben able to transform into Alien X, he becomes the 3rd personality (the voice of reason) that helps balance out all of the arguments they have. However, the 2 personalities mostly never come to turns on anything, and want to focus on past arguments rather than any new ones, and since these 2 personalities are living beings they should count as outside help. So seeing Alien X in a DEATH BATTLE would go against the no outside help rule.

      Summary

Ben is an overall powerful opponent. Depending on which alien he uses he can be capable of trumping even the strongest of villains. With his expansive alien transformations he can be very unpredictable in battle. Though, is he really the hero he’s made out to be?

      Advantages

      • Ben can select from more than 10 aliens to fight with
      • Because of the above statement this makes him very unpredictable
      • Way Big stands taller than probably any opponent suitable for Ben
      • Big Chill and Ghostfreak allow Ben to phase through enemy attacks
      • Diamondhead being a living diamond makes Ben very durable
      • Feedback can redirect energy attacks
      • Swampfire can regenerate

      Disadvantages

      • Most of his stronger aliens are very slow
      • Ghostfreak and Big Chill’s intangibility can be canceled out
      • Ben’s Omnitrix only allows him to be an alien for around 5 minutes with constant switching
      • Is weak in his human form
      • Probably won’t use most of the aliens listed above

      Danny Phantom

With all of Ben’s transformations could he be too much for Danny to handle? WRONG! With some of Danny’s more overpowered feats he’s capable of dealing with all of Ben’s transformations easily. Ben and Danny have so many similarities to each other, it’s creepy. Both turn into what is normally perceived as “supernatural”, both yell a battle cry before transformation, group up with a boy and girl on their adventures, have a relationship with the color green, got their powers as a result of someone else’s experiment, and were both bullied by kids with eerily similar names (Cash and Dash). With the competition these 2 have against each other being so big, I really think this is something that should happen.

    • DEATH ANALYSIS: The Half Ghost Savior of Amity Park

      Kirbykid

Hey guys! Let me just start off by saying thanks to all those who read the previous blog, it was so awesome knowing everyone enjoyed my blog, especially since it was my first one ever.

Last time, I hinted to doing the infamous Danny Phantom in my next DEATH ANALYSIS, and that’s what I’ll be doing. Like before, I will not give Danny any of his feats from his video games, comic book series, or anything else non-canon. Hopefully I will introduce, or re-introduce you guys to this very creative character, and to my surprise Ben Singer (Wiz’s secret identity) doesn’t know who Danny is! So if you’re reading this right now Ben, I hope I can show you, or anyone else for that matter, what Danny is made of. Now let’s get started.

      Background

Danny Fenton was an average 14 year old adolescent. His parents, however, created a business based around something not so average. Ghost hunting. When his parent’s machine into “the ghost zone” had failed, Danny, after being tempted by his best friends, had gone into the portal and flipped on the power switch within it. After doing this the portal had charged, ripping Danny through the ghost world AND the human world. Through this, ectoplasm had fused with Danny’s DNA structure, inverting the color of his clothing, hair, eyes and the biggest change of them all, gave him ghost powers. Scared of his powers at first he decided to stop using them, fearing that he’d go from “Geek to Freak” among his peers (and how could you tell your ghost hunting parents you were a ghost?), but after realizing the good his powers could do Danny then made use of his powers to save his home Amity Park from any ghost that dared threaten it, and Danny Phantom came to be. His awkwardness carried into his superhero career at first, but as the show progressed, Danny became more confident, having an attitude similar to that of Spiderman in battle. Danny is very tenacious, risking even his own life for the good of others on multiple occasions and has outsmarted and trumped foes stronger and smarter than him even if his chances of winning were or are slim to none.

      Skills (As Danny Fenton)

Danny’s battle experience comes from his experience as a ghost hunter. Being trained by his ghost hunter mother and father Danny is knowledgeable in how to fight beings from other dimensions,  and has shown to be very athletic like in Micro-Management, capable of clearing an entire obstacle course in 2 minutes and do front flips or back flips with little effort. He’s even been shown to be a very skilled tactician (sorry lousy) throughout his series, able to form plans in dire situations like in Pirate Radio where he devised a plan to infiltrate a ghost ship harboring all of Amity Park’s adults and saved everyone. He has even resisted possession on more than one occasion proving he has an indomitable will, and is also capable of using his ghost powers when he’s in his human form, but not the extent his ghost form has shown.

      Weaknesses (As Danny Fenton)

Even though Danny is very athletic, he’s also human, and is just as vulnerable as any other human, especially if he is somehow unable to turn into his ghost form.

      Standard Equipment

      Fenton Thermos

Coming from a family of ghost hunters, Danny’s parents have created a wide variety of ghost weapons. While giving Danny the entire ghost hunting arsenal would be cool, I think its best I leave Danny with this, especially since he uses it in nearly every episode.

The Fenton Thermos is a ghost catching device that launches a blue beam from inside to, well, catch ghosts. It’s worth noting that while the Fenton Thermos has a limit to the amount of ghosts it can capture, it ignores how powerful a ghost is and traps them regardless, like Danny’s evil and more powerful future self or Freakshow when he had the reality gauntlet and the ability to control all of reality. I also want to bring up something a lot of you may not know. Butch Hartman (the creator of Danny Phantom) said in an interview that ghosts in the Danny Phantom universe aren’t the disembodied spirits of dead people, but they’re actually monsters/creatures from a mysterious dimension. Calling them ghosts is just easier (though there are actual ghosts in the Danny Phantom universe, Desiree for example). So whether or not the Fenton Thermos can suck up ghost-like creatures is debatable, especially since the thermos was created for a species that at the time Danny’s parents didn’t have proof of in their existence.

      Transformation

After yelling the phrase “Going Ghost” Danny surrounds himself with 2 rings that alter his appearance and unlocks his ghost half, Danny Phantom. In ghost form Danny is capable of doing anything a ghost is capable of doing with the exception of a few… extra abilities.

      Invisibility/Intangibility

Danny turns invisible, and cannot be seen by anything other than heat seeking devices. Danny is also capable of making other objects invisible with him through contact, and can make himself intangible and invisible at the same time.

When intangible he becomes untouchable to everything. Just like invisibility he can pass his intangibility to other objects, but can still be seen. It’s also worth noting that while Danny’s intangibility has been negated by other Intangible beings he has shown in multiple occasions to be able to go though other intangible beings as well.

      Overshadowing

Also known as another badass term for possession, Danny is capable of possessing animals, inanimate objects, and ghosts that are more powerful than him like Vlad, an even more powerful half ghost.

      Ghost Ray

Danny is capable of shooting blasts of ectoplasmic energy from his palms, which can be manipulated into other blast variants. He can shoot them out as disks, spheres, rings, and can even power it up into a “super ghost ray” that is capable of disintegrating entire ghosts like he did in Kindred Spirits against his faulty clone and destroy a mini golf course in the process or in Frightmare against Nocturnes sleep walkers.

He used one of his blast variants (Ghost spheres) to completely destroy a monster nutcracker, a giant nutcracker the size of a building, in The Fright before Christmas in one shot. These ectoplasmic energy blasts are capable of destroying stone and can cut through metal depending on how Danny harnesses their power.  He can also channel his ecto-energy into his fists that can be used to increase his physical attacks like he did to Tucker in Tucker Phantom.

Danny can also harness his ecto-energy into light that he can emit from his palms to blind his opponents like he did in Double Cross My Heart. He can even blast other intangible foes with these blasts like he did in Beauty Marked against another ghost.

      Ecto-Shields

Danny can produce a full dome of protective ecto- energy that can shield him from attacks strong enough to destroy buildings like Vlad’s own Ghost rays. His own shields have other variants like his ghost ray, such as the reflective shield which is capable of reflecting projectiles.

He can also produce ecto-shields that can repel enemies around him, sending out an aural projection strong enough to obliterate small ghosts.

      Duplication

Danny spends most of the entire series trying to master this ability. Though his first few attempts were… faulty, he’s shown to master it early on in Beauty Marked and uses it better in Torrent of Terror where he splits himself into 4 copies.

      Ghostly Wail

This is arguably Danny’s most powerful attack. First used in The Ultimate Enemy, this attack allows Danny to scream ultra sonic waves of ectoplasmic energy capable of one shotting powerful ghosts like Danny’s future self, future versions of all of his main ghost enemies, and is capable of downing an entire building. Around the first few times Danny used this attack it drained him completely of his ghost powers and reverted him back into his human self, but he has grown powerful enough to resist this since we see him in Phantom Planet using the attack 3 times in a row and wasn’t even be fazed by it.

      Cryokinesis

In Urban Jungle Danny gained the ability to control ice, though Danny technically had this ability from the beginning of the series. His ice powers give him the ability to freeze things on contact or through firing lasers from his hands or eyes and shoot shards of ice. Just like his ecto-energy, Danny can charge his ice into his fists which he does in Frightmare and punches right through Nocturne with an icy fist and freezes him from the inside. He can also merge his ice and ghost ray powers together to create a giant exploding green snowball that completely obliterated Undergrowth when he was the size of a building. He can also make a shield out of ice as an additive to his shield variants.

Danny’s ice powers are really powerful, capable of freezing all of Amity Park and even Undergrowth in one shot while he was in full size. His ability to control ice also makes him invulnerable to being frozen.

His first power in the series is a form of cryokinesis, which is his ghost sense that I mentioned before. His ghost sense allows Danny to… sense ghosts. It comes out of his mouth in a blue mist, and just like the Fenton Thermos it seems to work against ghost-like enemies or other half ghosts.

      Electrokinesis

This was a little harder to find because he doesn’t use this lot throughout the series, but it is there. In the first episode Danny uses this power to charge the Fenton Thermos, and in Public Enemies he sends his own electric current through an electric line.

In Flirting with Disaster he uses his electric powers more wildly (and noticeably I might add) while being shocked himself. He’s also able to fuse himself with a video game with his own avatar in a video game… somehow.

      Telekinesis

He’s able to lift things by emanating an ectoplasmic line of ecto-energy that lifts whatever he’s trying to lift. He’s only done it in Boxed Up Fury but it’s done so effectively I included it. (Plus I needed another Kinesis in here.)

      Power Augmentation

We see this power quite a lot throughout the series, mostly whenever Danny is stuck in some sort of trap or fighting a stronger opponent. He first used this against the Fright Knight in his Halloween special to disarm him of his sword, and can be shown off by either a green or white aura.

      Body Manipulation

This power is mostly seen in Danny’s ghost tail that appears when he tries to fly. Danny is also capable of making holes in his body where an enemy would hit, which can help him escape enemy attacks.

If he isn’t making a hole he can separate his body in half or stretch his body to make him longer and harder to hit.

      Regeneration

Danny has a really high level of regeneration. We see him regenerate from small cuts and major damage all the time throughout the series but in one episode, Reality Trip (prepare to see this episode brought up a lot), Danny gets turned into goop by the reality warping Freakshow and gets rammed by a rollercoaster and just simply… forms back together. I guess you can add this as another form of body manipulation but the way Danny forms mashes back together proves that he has a high level of regeneration.

      Strength Feats

Now we go onto feats! Danny, before he had his ghost ray abilities, had to rely on his brute strength and strategic mind to fight off foes. In the first episode we see Danny kick over a giant monster at least 2 stories tall made of meat with ease. He’s lifted the giant ghost dragon and thrown it multiple times and effortlessly lifted a school bus full of children in Forever Phantom. In Eye for an Eye Danny kicked Vlad through about 4 floors of a building with little trouble and once again we see another feat from Reality Trip where Danny rips the reinforced titanium off of a living space shuttle.

Danny has never really shown an upper limit to what he can lift, and according to Butch Hartman in another interview, Danny being a half ghost means that gravity doesn’t affect him, so he can lift really heavy things. This explains Danny’s ability to walk on walls, but also sort of makes it impossible to determine where Danny’s upper limit lies, but a reasonable guess would be around 10 to 30 tons.

      Speed/Reaction Feats

In Maternal instincts Danny goes through training and literally in the first few seconds of the trailer Tucker records Danny’s speed on a speed gun to be 112 mph. While I don’t have any problem saying Danny could fly at that speed naturally, he’s shown to be way faster. In Reality Trip Danny out flies a space shuttle brought to life by the gem of life. Impressive since space shuttles can reach speeds of over 17,500 mph!

This alone puts Danny at least mach 23 in terms of flight speed. For reaction speed I’d put him at exactly the same level, since he dodges cannonballs, catches arrows, and goes through traps with little trouble. Not to mention Danny maneuvered himself in front of the space shuttle he flew past, which would require hypersonic reactions to do. He was also able to catch Jasmine's punch in Secret Weapons when she was in the Fenton Skeleton (basically a mech suit made specifically to beat ghosts).

      Durability/ Endurance Feats

Just like a space shuttle Danny can survive atmospheric re-entry normally and survive out in space (all the way out to Jupiter) and not be effected. He still however needs a helmet since he probably cannot do self sustenance. (This is debatable since we see Vlad out in space and he’s a half ghost too so Danny should be able to be out in space without a helmet.)

Other than that Danny has shown to take beating after beating and still keep fighting. In The Fright before Christmas Danny fights a giant nut cracker that crushes Danny into a car, building, the cement floor, and underneath his foot and Danny wasn’t even fazed by it afterwards.

      Weaknesses (As Danny Phantom)

Danny, if overpowered, can revert back to his human form. He is also weak to ghost weapons in his ghost form, and his intangibility can be canceled out by another being that is intangible (though he can still go through other intangible beings.)

      Summary

Danny is an incredibly skilled combatant. He has enough versatility and a strategic mind to beat foes way out of his league. His classification as a ghost gives him the ability to evade a lot of enemy attacks, and he can be very hard to hit as a result. But, can he hold his own in a one on one?

      Advantages

      • Has a lot of versatile attacks and different variants of them
      • Can regenerate
      • Has destroyed opponents the size of buildings in one shot
      • No longer gets weak from using his Ghostly Wail
      • Can turn invisible and intangible at the same time
      • Can hit and go through other intangible matter
      • Very athletic in both forms
      • Can split himself into 4 other copies

      Disadvantages

      • Weak in his human form
      • Intangibility can be canceled out
      • Is vulnerable to ghost weapons

Both Ben and Danny have a lot of similarities to each other. They both wear their symbol’s proudly upon their chest, got their powers by complete accident, and come on guys! It’s Nickelodeon Vs. Cartoon Network! Who doesn’t want to see that?

      Next time on DEATH ANALYSIS..

Heh heh. Not every Death Analysis preview will be easy to figure out… well, at least not normally. It’ll fluctuate from easy to hard, and right now we’re on hard. Also, if you haven't watched Danny Phantom yet, do it! It's a really good show that sadly lasted around 52 episodes, so it shouldn't take a long time to watch the entire series. Well, that’s enough outta me.

Till next time, Kirby Kid signing off.

    • DEATH ANALYSIS: The Disloyal Royal Self Proclaimed King of Dreamland

      Kirbykid

Hey guys, Kirby kid here! Don’t know why I’m so excited to say my name, but it might be because I’m finally getting to do a Kirby character analysis. You’d think a Kirby blog would be my first considering my name, but irony seems to run my life every so often.

Unfortunately scans from the Manga version of Dedede are kind of absent, so Manga feats will be excluded from the blog. Every other canon will be taken into account, but it should be noted that the anime version of Dedede’s personality and the game version of his personality differ a bit. Now let’s get started.

      Background

      King Dedede

King Dedede, despite his adorable appearance, is the extremely selfish king of dreamland. It’s often questioned if he’s actually the king of Dreamland and for good reason too, since one of his first acts as king was to steal his entire kingdoms food and eat it. Thankfully, a food supporter you may all know as Kirby wasn’t too fond of this, and “Royally” kicked King Dedede’s ass. Despite his role as king he prefers no administrative functions in the kingdom, and the citizens live as they normally would.

Even though King Dedede is seen as an antagonist his actions aren’t necessarily evil, just dickish. Most, if not all of his truly evil actions are done through possession by a higher monster, or are often a misunderstanding like in Nightmare in Dreamland where the king actually tries to save Dreamland from Nightmare. He even spends time with Kirby in star racing, food racing, and other Mini-game competitions. His relationship with Kirby can be seen as more of a rivalry, and on more than one occasion he has actually helped Kirby fight against evil, and lately, saved the entire planet in Dedede Tour by himself.

      Weapons

      Hammer

The hammer is the king’s traditional melee weapon. It’s a standard wooden mallet but is capable of smashing large boulders into dust. When at full health King Dedede can fire a hammer wave from it (as a nod to the Legend of Zelda series), and can somehow channel fire into his hammer for his own hammer flip technique, and his own hammer twirl technique.

He can also fire a beam of energy from his mallet, and throw his hammer for a powerful explosive attack and pull out a new one with the same abilities as the last one, giving him an unlimited amount of hammers.  In Kirby Tilt N Tumble He could also throw his hammer in a boomerang like fashion.

      Jet Hammer

The jet hammer is Dedede’s standard weapon in the Super smash bros. games, and performs just like King Dedede’s normal mallet, and may very well be the same thing. The only differences is that the hammer is outfitted with special mechanical systems which include precision bearings to boost it’s effectiveness in battle and turbo jets (hence the name Jet Hammer).

King Dedede can charge this hammer for a more powerful attack similar to the hammer flip technique, but more powerful. The longer he charges, the more powerful it gets, but if he charges it for too long he starts to get damaged.

      Dedede Hammer (Masked Dedede)

This hammer is probably the most powerful hammer in Dedede’s possession, and comes with a mechanical mask which up’s the king’s defense. The hammer is used liked any of his other hammer’s except this time contact with the hammer (and Dedede himself) will inflict an electric shock. Dedede can also send an electric shockwave through the ground by slamming the hammer against it.

The hammer is also a rocket launcher, and can fire 4 rockets at once and seemingly has an unlimited supply of rockets inside. As an added touch the hammer is also a flame thrower, and the flames can reach about 7 ft in front of the king. Dedede can use a very powerful spinning attack with the hammer that covers him completely in an aura of electricity and, as a result, leads to dizziness.

      Bombs

King Dedede uses a variety of bombs in a variety of games, but mostly in the non-Kirby platform games like Tilt N Tumble and Kirby’s Blockball to name a few examples. They are mostly just the standard cartoonish black bombs, but in Kirby Mass Attack King Dedede was given access to timed bombs that are somehow contained within bubbles.

If the bubble is popped the bomb inside instantly explodes, but if undisturbed the bubble can be bounced back at Dedede and explode/be hit back by Dedede depending on where the time lies on the bomb.

      Gordo’s

Gordo’s are invincible circular spiky balls that don’t… do anything. They float in the air and move sometimes but they are usually just another obstacle for Kirby to avoid. They were added into Dedede’s arsenal in Smash Bros. Brawl were they could be randomly thrown out amongst Waddle Dee’s or Doo’s, but they are now exclusively tossed out instead in the new game as seen in the April smash bros direct. He also throws these in the Dedede arena in Kirby Fighters.

      Star Hammer

Very VERY recently new information on the new Kirby Fighters Z game came out, and along with it, a few new things for King Dedede. If you’ve played Kirby fighters you’ll know that the final battle within the mini-game is with Shadow Kirby, but instead of Shadow Kirby for Kirby Fighters Z it’s King Dedede, and he comes equipped with a new hammer with a few more abilities worth mentioning.

In Kirby Fighters Z, King Dedede is given the ability to multiply himself into 21 small Dedede’s being around the same height as Kirby, and 2 Medium sized Dedede’s that take more hits and have stronger attacks than the smaller ones. In addition to multiplying himself, Dedede can also increase his size, giving him a height of over 7 Feet, a very useful ability. He’s also given a new attack where he spins his himself and flings key chains of himself to blind the player (or an opponent if in a fight). Where Dedede got these abilities is unclear but his new hammer seems to be the reason for these new abilities.

      Skills/Abilities

      Inhale

Ever since the first game King Dedede has had the ability to inhale, and has improved to the point where he can inhale anything up to 10 feet in front of him, and he can inhale anything from Fire Kirby to Plasma Kirby with no trouble.

After inhaling an object, he can spit it out at high speeds in any direction (sometimes breaking the fourth wall and shooting at the screen) and after being beaten by Kirby in Nightmare in dreamland, shot Kirby out of Popstar’s atmosphere with seconds from his mouth.

      Flight

After getting his ass kicked in the first game as mentioned before, Dedede went through intense training to puff himself up giving him the ability to fly according to his melee trophy. He does this by inhaling air, and he can fly at high speeds, but we'll get more in depth on Dedede's flight ability later.

      Super Dedede Jump

Dedede can jump at over 12 feet in the air. After landing he can cause a small shockwave in the shape of stars around him.

      Genius Intellect

Despite his actions, he’s actually been shown to be a genius, since on more than one occasion has built mechanisms like The Dedede Hammer, Jet hammer, the Dedede Brooch in Super Smash Bros. Brawl which changed any character turned into a trophy back to normal, etc.

      Electrokinesis…?

Yep. This is a thing. He’s only done it in Kirby’s Pinball Land so I’m not sure if this is something DEATH BATTLE would consider if he was ever in a battle, but it’s worth noting regardless. Believe it or not manipulating an element isn’t unnatural to King Dedede since he can manipulate fire into his hammer. Now onto what this can do, the electricity is powerful enough to stop metal flippers in a giant pinball machine-esque arena.

      Waddle Dee Army

Waddle Dee army is a final smash gained after hitting a smash ball in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. In this final smash Dedede dances around summoning countless Waddle Dee’s Doo’s and Gordo’s around the screen sporadically, making it hard to dodge the attack. Since outside help is forbidden in DEATH BATTLE, this attack loses both the Waddle Dee’s and Doo’s that King Dedede can summon, but he can still instead summon Gordo’s which gives him a good shield of invincible objects around him.

However, if DEATH BATTLE ever decides to do another Wily vs. Eggman type DEATH BATTLE, this attack could be very useful in adding more troops into battle for King Dedede’s army.

      Vehicles

      Wheelie Bike

In Kirby Air Ride the King is given his own exclusive wheelie bike type that differs from the other wheelie types. It has good top speed, acceleration and offense, but poor handling and charge time. It is a sentient vehicle so putting it into battle might go against the no outside help rule but that rule is subject to change from time to time depending on the situation it’s being used in.

      Air Balloon

A basic hot air balloon with Dedede having narcissistically put the balloon as his face. The basket contains an unlimited amount of time bomb bubbles and can take a couple of explosions before exploding itself.

      Armor

      Mech Suit

      HR-D3

A mechanical suit made by Dedede himself. Dedede first used this in Kirby’s Dream Course and was going to be in an unreleased Kirby game for the GameCube but finally got brought back in Kirby Mass Attack with its GameCube design.  It should be noted that the HR-D3 in Kirby’s Return to Dreamland is a different version of Dedede’s original HR-D3, but they are both revealed to be made in a similar way (through the Japanese version of the Kirby booklet in Kirby's dream collection) so it's possible they have some of the same abilities. This ranges from missiles that can be shot in rows of 9 at a time, laser eyes, and electrically charging his fist and drill arms. It can even continue to work after having the outer shell of the mech being destroyed.

This suit is about 12 feet tall, and can release tiny Dedede wind up bombs that walk towards a targeted enemy. It also contains a laser inside of itself that can release a GIANT beam of energy.

      Strength Feats

As mentioned before, Dedede’s regular wooden hammer is somehow capable of smashing giant stone columns 2 times his size in a single hit depending on how much strength he focuses into his hammer. According to one of the Snake Codec calls in Smash Bros. Brawl, King Dedede can level an entire building with one swing from his Jet hammer, and looks heavy enough that Snake stated he couldn’t even lift it.

In episode 2 of Kirby Right Back At Ya, Dedede ordered a giant stone monster easily weighing a couple thousand tons that crashed through 35 of Dedede’s solid brick floors and kept it from crushing himself with Escargoon’s help on the 36th floor.

He also canonically defeated more powerful versions of Kirby Triple Deluxe’s bosses, one being Pyribbit, a lava frog that regularly causes volcanic eruptions and snacks on lava rocks.

      Speed Feats

Being a big, fat penguin with a giant hammer not even a super soldier can lift you’d think Dedede would be slow right? That, however, is not the case. At the end of Kirby’s Adventure/Kirby’s Nightmare In Dreamland after defeating Nightmare, Kirby fly’s back into his planet’s atmosphere… with the King flying closely behind him. In order to escape a planet’s atmosphere you would have to be moving at speeds that clock in at over Supersonic ranges. (Assuming Popstar’s escape velocity is similar to our planet, which considering Popstar is confirmed to be a planet sized object, is highly possible.)

The king can also operate the Warpstar in some parts of Kirby Triple Deluxe and can drive a wheelie bike which can drive almost as fast as Wheel Kirby in Born to be Mild part 2 in the anime, which is impressive since wheel Kirby completed an entire race track in The Kirby Derby part 2 in seconds. His fighting speed in the mini-game samurai Kirby is practically instant, and he can keep up with Kirby on foot to some extent in Gourmet race.

Possibly one of his best speed feats would have to be in the new game, Kirby: Triple Deluxe, where King Dedede went up against and won a battle against Dark Metaknight. Now I know what you guys are thinking, “Why is beating a mirror version of Metaknight important? The 2 aren’t the same, so why compare them?” While they are both different from each other, Dark Metaknight actually landed a couple hits on the original Metaknight in a cut scene. Yes Metaknight, the massively faster than light, greatest warrior of the galaxy beating Metaknight.

This would give Dedede around a relativistic reaction speed, since he’d need to be at around that speed in order to touch Dark Metaknight. It should be noted however that while Dedede has taken on Dark Metaknight in a fight, his reaction speed is not yet up to par with the original, as a result he has yet to beat Metaknight since he has been beaten by Metaknight in a duel at least twice.

      Durability Feats

Has survived repeatedly being smashed out of his own castle, can survive being crushed completely flat, and survived a close ranged explosion from a monster that was supposed to kill Kirby in episode 12 of the anime and was completely fine afterwards.

The King has survived atmospheric re-entry and escape velocity just as much as Kirby, and depending on how serious you take the feat, survived an explosion almost the size of Popstar in Kirby: Triple Deluxe leading to the destruction of Sectonia who was as big as Planet Popstar at the time.

      Miscellaneous Feats

Has stolen every star in the sky in a single night not once but twice, and is even described as a regular activity in his Smash Bros. trophy.

Went through an entire game without his body and only his head (and could somehow still wield a hammer).

Defeated a mirrored version of himself fit with his own Dedede Hammer and extra abilities.

Has fought and beaten all of the Kirby: Triple Deluxe bosses by himself.

Saved the entire Smash bros universe with his badge invention.

Is a ninja and a samurai.

      Weaknesses

King Dedede is known to act a bit stupid on occasion especially if you consider the anime. He’s also a bit on the small side; a side by side comparison with Kirby gives him a height of about 3 feet (though this can  be countered with his new Kirby Fighter Z ability to grow) Over charging the Jet hammer gets Dedede hurt as well.

      Summary

King Dedede is honestly worthy of his Kingly title. Despite his personality in the anime and comments made against him by his own people he’s more than proven himself as a capable fighter and king, and definitely can hold himself in a fight. His inventions give him a leg up on opponents, but how long can he last before he shorts out?

      Advantages

      • Intelligent behavior gives him a more resourceful outlook in a fight.
      • Can use his inhale and exhale ability on his bombs like a canon.
      • Jet hammer and Dedede Hammer ensure building level + power.
      • HR-D3 gives the king a boost in size that he needs if ever against a large opponent.
      • The added power and abilities from HR-D3 helps too.
      • Electric attacks can be helpful in slowing an enemy down (if applied)
      • Has a VERY good distance game. All of his hammers have a long ranged attack and his bombs and Gordo’s can be very useful against other projectile attacks.
      • Has experience completing goals when playing the hero.
      • Durability is arguably really high.
      • Ridiculously fast both reaction wise and travel speed wise.
      • Masked Dedede allows Dedede to be resistant to electricity.

      Disadvantages

      • A bit dense sometimes.
      • Tends to let others do his own work, because of this it makes him a little lazy.
      • Explodes if you soil his carpets.
      • He might not get his electric powers (no matter how cool that would be)

      Recommended Fighters

      Bowser

I think this is a good parallel to Princess Peach vs. Zelda where that battle was about Princesses this one is about Kings. With both having also been in Smash and with Bowser appearing in Melee instead of Dedede I think these 2 would like to duke it out, especially since they do have a real rivalry within the smash series. The 2 actually fought at one point in Smash Bros. Brawl, where Dedede kinda became the victor…

But let’s have them fight anyway! I’m sure Bowser would love a rematch. Plus these 2 are the most inconsistent in both size and abilities, so I would love to see how Wiz and Boomstick order up their feats.

      King K. Rool

No, I am not copying ultraguy and LousyTactican's recent blog on bowser! Believe it or not Dedede vs. Rool has been requested just as much as Bowser vs. Rool, and it’s a fight that I think would work on a lot of levels. Both are selfish Kings, somehow they are both incredibly intelligent and stupid at the same time and fight INCREDIBLY overpowered protagonists that hate the moon (Still don’t get Nintendo’s hate towards the moon).

      Now for the kicker…

      TRIPLE BATTLE ROYALE!

Yep. After looking at every one of these characters backgrounds they all have a lot of things in common. All of them are a type of aquatic animal, have entire fleshed out army’s that everyone would love to see duke it out, Bowser is magic based K. Rool is technologically based and Dedede is a mixture of both, and they all also have one crucial thing in common. They all lose to the same antagonist over and over and over again. It’s time to see who’s the best King that can kick the worst ass!... That didn’t make much sense there but you get the point. There are countless other similarities I could name at the top of my head right now but I think you guys see my point. Honestly they’re all good opponents for each other.

      Next time on DEATH ANALYSIS..

Hope everyone enjoyed the blog. It was awesome to put together, especially since I got to do research about a character from my favorite video game series. Which King do you think would win a war if Dedede, Bowser and Rool ever fought with their entire armies? Imagining how they would all initiate the fight actually seems a little funny if you think about it given their ridiculous personalities.

Till next time, Kirby Kid signing off.

    • DOUBLE DEATH ANALYSIS: The Star Shaped Heroes of the Solar System!

      Kirbykid

Now I know what you’re thinking. Just who the hell are these 2? Well, that’s the point really. Starfy and Ristar have only starred in 1 game in the U.S. Though Starfy has had 4 other games in his series those games didn’t come to America, and compared to The Legendary Starfy that came to America, I’d say it’s the only game in the entire series that actually mattered, so don’t expect to see much from those games. So, to keep things fair I will limit them both to their only game they’ve had in the U.S.

Since both of these characters don’t have enough information for just one DEATH ANALYSIS, I decided to fuse their analyses into one, DOUBLE DEATH ANALYSIS. While I won’t be predicting the winner in this fight, their advantages and disadvantages will be against each other, and hopefully you guys will recognize how bright these STARS in gaming really are. Now let’s get started.

      Background

      Starfy

Starfy is the prince of Pufftop, a kingdom of clouds, and he is (according to the Japanese commercials for his games) 7 years old and 36 cm tall. Starfy is actually quite skilled for his age, making his own form of attack, famously known as the star spin, and other forms of this attack. According to his creator, Starfy is somewhere between a starfish and an actual celestial star.  Not, quite sure how that works naturally but hey, Nintendo logic works in mysterious ways. Being half starfish Starfy excels at swimming, and considers it a second home, but comes with a lot of tricks on land as well. Since he is 7 years old he acts just like any other child would, naïve, clumsy, and all around childish. However, when given a task to help someone he gives it his all and will help anyone in need no matter how out of the way it is for him, giving him the ability to actually use the power of “friendship” numerous times throughout his series, and most notably in his final battle against Mashtooth in The Legendary Starfy.

      Abilities

Referred to as “abilities” in his game, Starfy has a number of abilities he can use in battle.

      Star Spin

Just as the name says, a basic star spin that Starfy can do both underwater and on the surface. Using this move too much at a time can result in dizziness, and while it happens easily in game play, cutscenes suggest otherwise, showing Starfy spinning for minutes without getting dizzy. This move can allow him to crush boulders and smack asteroids right out of the sky.

He has many other types of this move like the Mighty Star Spin which is basically just a stronger version of the Star Spin and then finally the Ultra Star Spin which is a stronger and faster star spin that launches Starfy farther when underwater, and makes the tip of Starfy's head sharper and more pointy.

      Glide

Starfy can use his small flat body as a glider to float gently through the sky.

      Air Jump/Flight

Starfy can perform a double jump by jumping off thin air. Starfy can also fly into the sky at insanely fast speeds, all the way out of a planet’s atmosphere and into space in a matter of seconds.

      Shooting Star

Possibly Starfy’s strongest attack. Starfy can use this attack to rocket down like a meteor, and can be charged while moving downward to increase effectiveness as seen in his minigame Depth Chargers.

      Strength Feats

Starfy has shown tremendous strength throughout his game, smashing boulders, slapping asteroids back to the opponents who threw them, and at the ending of The Legendary Starfy, forced an attack that shot a moon towards him through straight up brute force… TWICE. Granted the moon was small but still.

One has to wonder what Nintendo's deal with the moon is. Starfy also beat old man lobber in a fight, a character that’s said to be stronger than Mashtooth (the guy who shot the moon back at Starfy, and absorbed the power of an entire planet of beings with magical abilities) and won.

      Speed/Reaction Feats

Starfy, at the end of The Legendary Starfy, flew out of the atmosphere and into space as mentioned before in seconds. He can also react to asteroids which can moves up to 1,000 miles per hour (in space) and could react to Mashtooth’s laser attack that shot the moon towards Starfy twice, and dodge the lightning that Mashtooth uses as a main method of attack in both of his forms.

      Durability Feats

In the beginning of The Legendary Starfy, Bunston (a space rabbit) is shot while reentering Starfy’s planet’s atmosphere and falls right smack onto Starfy and was only surprised by it. Starfy can also go through escape velocity and atmospheric reentry with little trouble.

      Weaknesses

Being 7 years old he has the mentality of a child. If he spins too much he will become dizzy and unable to attack for a few seconds.

      Summary

Starfy is a total star! Even being what he is, he has accomplished many over powering feats, and in just one game. But, can he hold his own against Ristar?

      Advantages

      • Physically more powerful than Ristar
      • Has more attacks
      • Even taking research from one game, Starfy has the most experience from having 5 games
      • More durable
      • More skilled in the water

      Disadvantages

      • Gets dizzy if he spins too much
      • A bit Naïve
      • Slower

So we’ve finished Starfy’s end of the blog, and you’re probably thinking “How on Earth can Ristar beat this moon tossing Starfish?” Well, it’s time to discuss this long forgotten star in gaming.

      Background

      Ristar

The solar system was in trouble. Kaiser Greedy was controlling the leaders of 6 planets, and had captured the hero of the solar system. A plea for help is made… And is answered by the hero’s own son, Ristar. It’s said that while he is young and inexperienced, after what seems like just being born Ristar fights entire armies of space pirates, the leaders of 6 planets, and the space pirate’s leader with no trouble.  Just like Starfy, Ristar is somehow a star, and because of this he has a lot of energy. Ristar was also inspiration for who we all know today as Sonic the hedgehog!

      Abilities

      Stretchy arms

Ristar’s famous skill is his ability to stretch his arms and grab enemies. He hasn’t shown any limit to how much he can stretch, but he can stretch his arms up to 5 feet in any direction.

He can grab, punch, or lift anything he is able to get his hands on, and is a good way to keep distance. He can also use his arms to propel himself through water making him swim faster.

      Headbutt

After grabbing an opponent Ristar’s main method of attacking afterward is head butting. He can break robots with his head.

      Meteor Strike

This is Ristar's most powerful attack. This attack is how Ristar flies from planet to planet, and once used Ristar becomes temporarily invincible, and bounces off walls and floors if he hits one. It’s a misconception that Ristar can only fly with the use of a star handle, since in the intro he flies from whatever planet he was on into the Validi system where the entire game resides.

      Items

Throughout the game Ristar is given an assortment of items. 2 of which are actually exclusive to the American version of the game.

      Anti-Gravity Shoes

This item allows Ristar to swim in the air, and was exclusive to the American version of the game, mainly because apart of one stage Ristar randomly swam in the air so they put the shoes in the American version so that swimming in the air would actually make sense.

      Red Star

This is basically what it should be.

This item is basically an invincibility star similar to the one from any Mario title, where it makes Ristar faster and invincible for a small amount of time.

      Strength Feats

Not much throughout the game is seen, but Ristar is capable of flipping giant monsters all around the screen and crush giant robots with his head. In the boss stage of planet Freon, Ristar hit the boss so hard it sunk a small platform into the water.

      Speed/Reaction Feats

Being the inspiration to Sonic the hedgehog you’d expect Ristar to be fast right? Well, that’s exactly the case. Every time you complete a level Ristar flies to the next neighboring planet… IN SECONDS.

This alone puts Ristar at faster than light flight speed, since a reasonable distance between planets (if I were to gimp the distance) would be around Earth to Mars, and even then Ristar still would be about 3X the speed of light. The fact that Ristar can even maneuver through that speed also puts him at about FTL reactions speed as well.

      Durability Feats

Ristar can tank atmospheric re-entry and escape velocity with no trouble.

      Weaknesses

His arms have a stretching limit, and lacks attacks. The Antigravity shoes are kind of pointless with Ristars ability to fly.

      Summary

Ristar is definitely worthy of his hero title. His speed can definitely prove too much in battle, but does he have what it takes to take on his star shaped foe Starfy?

      Advantages

      • Much faster than Starfy
      • Has more items
      • Can become invincible (temporarily)
      • Can use Starfy as a Star Pole if he grabs him and Starfy spins
      • Stretchiness gives him a little better distance

      Disadvantages

      • Weaker physically
      • Not as durable
      • Not as experienced

There you have it. Starfy Vs. Ristar is definitely a fight I think should happen, mainly because of the insane amount of similarities the two have. Both are actual stars somehow; fight way differently using insanely weird methods of physcial attacks, the 2 fight a space pirate at the end of their games, and they both only have one game in America. Not only that, but these characters lack respect, both only having one game in the U.S, and not a lot of people know about these 2. It’s also a Nintendo Vs. Sega fight, and those are always fun. I also feel that this would be one DEATH BATTLE where environment can be influential on who wins, since Starfy's games always take place in water, I think it would be likely the fight would start near an ocean, and somehow end up in space. So, which star do you side with?

Thanks to MasterSoulSilver for this awesome VS logo.

      Next time on DEATH ANALYSIS..

Well, not sure where this preview’s difficulty lies, but all I’m going to say is that it’s about goddamn time.

Till next time, Kirby Kid signing off.

  • About Me

POYO!
