Now you might be wondering why I mention this. It is because RWBY Chat was the 2nd most active chat room on the old site. I'd love to see it back. A lot of the regulars ended up using IRC instead, but we'd love to be back here.

Apparently the group owner is the one who needs to add it.

      Crescent Rose
      Hunting Rifle, Glaive, legendary

This +2 Magical weapon is both a Hunting Rifle and Glaive and was once wielded by the Hunter Ruby Rose. This weapon can transition between a Hunting Rifle and Glaive as a bonus action. As a bonus action, you can collapse into a flat, portable form about 2 feet by 1 foot.

While in either form, you may expend a round from the Hunting Rifle to add 10 feet to your movement, including vertically.

A specific member's (660677) posts are not showing up on forums unless one goes to the "Print Friendly" page. I'm posting for visibility. His profile page is apparently missing a number of posts as well.

So as the character thread is up, here is the rules thread.

      Rule #0 Everyone has fun
Rule #1 What the GM (Game Master, the guy running the game) says goes; generally for the good of the story or for the fun of everyone
Rule #2 Rules #0 and #1 trump the rules in the manual

So, beyond the "play nice" kind of things, here is the system I want to use to dictate character creation and how actions are undertaken. Rule of Cool system for RWBY. Now in a slightly-less-irritating-than-Mediafire Dropbox link.

You guys may feel free to start actually making the attributes, weapon, and semblance for your characters. It starts on page 5 of the pdf and you'll find that there are few restrictions. If you have any questions or want to check if something is ok, just leave a reply.

      House Rules

Use 1-6 for your attributes instead of 0-5

Remember Rule #0 is to have fun? Is it fun to have a character with a 0 in a stat? Probably not. So let's just add 1 to each of the stats. Some statistics say the game is a bit on the hard side as-is, let's not make it worse.

      Clarifying stats

You have six stats, Strength, Agility, Endurance, Perception, Willpower, and Discipline. You'll assign the numbers 1-6 to each stat (using each number only once).

Thanh's (an OC of mine) stat block would look like:

      STR 6
      AGL 2
      END 3
      PER 1
      WILL 4
      DIS 5

I'm currently busy brow beating Roll20.net into something that better suits a more free-form game of RWBY. In the mean time, why doesn't we start working on character ideas.

Most important to your character is their Semblance and their signature weapon. For example, here is one of my OCs.

      Thanh Phan
      Semblance: Weight adjustment
Thanh can defy gravity by adjusting his weight up or down. He can become an immovable mountain or light as a feather on the breeze.

Weapon: Và sấm sét (pronounced Va shum shet)
Thanh's gloves and boots have a sophisticated series of ducts and ports that channel Dust into his blows. It applies elemental effects to his fists and feet and be triggered to fire the effect out if needed.

I've been kicking around the idea of running a RWBY RPG and have finally found a system (that was a link, btw) that I'm happy with. Now I just need players! This is where you come in.

I'm looking for 4 players. The system is very free form with regards to your weapon and Semblance, so feel free to run wild. The game will be based in Vale, around the time of the Vytal festival, but won't directly follow upon the events of the RWBY series. I'll help come up with a team name if needed.

If you're interested, please reply with your interest and what time (and time zone) you'd be free to play. Feel free to share character ideas too.

Yes, it is probably OP. But this is for fun and creativity.

      Myrtenaster
      Rapier, legendary
This +1 Magical Rapier was once wielded by the Hunter Weiss Schnee. In the hilt are six chambers that hold vials of Dust in a revolver configuration. These give the weapon 6 different magical effects. It recharges 1d8+1 charges per day distributed as its owner wishes.
'¢ Lightning: 5 charges '“ You can use an action to expend one or more charges to cast the Lightning bolt spell (DC 15) as a 3rd-level spell. You can increase the spell level by one for each additional charge you spend.
'¢ Ice: 4 charges '“ You can use an action to expend two charges to cast the Wall of Ice spell (DC 15) as a 6th-level spell.
'¢ Fire: 5 charges '“ You can use an action to expend one or more charges to cast the Fireball spell (DC 15) as a 3rd-level spell. You can increase the spell level by one for each additional charge you spend.
'¢ Earth: 4 charges '“ You can use an action to expend two charges to cast Transmute Rock as a 5th-level spell (DC 15).
'¢ Air: 7 charges '“ You can use an action to expend one charge to cast the Gust of Wind spell (DC 15) as a 2nd-level spell.
'¢ Force: 7 charges - You can use an action to expend one charge to cast Feather Fall as a 1st-level spell.

EDIT: changed Force to Feather Fall as suggested by @Darkonus
